This ball-head was recommended by photographer�Jimmy McIntyre in one of his tutorials. I wanted to try a ball-head with an Arca-Swiss style quick release, since my Manfrotto ball-head quick release wasn't very solid. So far I'm very happy with it. It came with good instructions on how to adjust the friction on the ball, so your camera doesn't easily tip over when loosening the locking knob. Very well made.

Great ball head and comes with an impressive box and carrying bag. Good instruction and a easy to install. Should be strong enough to handle about any dislike and lense. Would be nice if the quick release adapter plates were better priced.

Very good ball head. Everything is made professionally. Holds camera and lens tight in landscape or portrait positions. Easily detaches to hand hold the DSLR; then easily reattaches for tripod shots. Ball head can support a lot of weight and keeps the camera and lens steady with no slipping. Quality purchase. I expect this to last a long time; maybe forever.

This thing is a tank. So far I’ve used it with my 35mm prime and 300mm zoom. No movement whatsoever and it locks down without having to crank the knob too tight.

Great, sturdy ball head. I watched a video on You Tube to calibrate it. I couldn't be happier. It handles my Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 70-200 f/2.8, Canon 2x extender with ease. I have the Sirui T-2205x carbon fiber tripod and a Sirui monopod and pan head. I'm thrilled with all of them.

I have only had this a short while, but I am so far very pleased with this ball head. My initial tests with it supporting my heaviest and longest lense (a 55-300) have not disappointed me. Some fine tuning required to tension knob to assure prevention of creep with this lense, but I’m confident in it holding once set. This seemed even more secure with the K-40x which is what I originally purchased and LOVED, but sadly this was just too large and cumbersome to allow my tripod (the sirui w-2204) to reverse fold around it enough to where it would still fit in the side pocket of my camera bag. Thus the exchange for the next model down. All in all I’ve so far found the K-30x to be the right combination of strength and portability to meet my needs. Would recommend to a friend with confidence!

Nice smooth action when using my Sony A7Rii and 70-300mm lens combo (much better than the K20x I tired). The safety quick release works on my L-bracket too. I tried a couple of more expensive ball heads that I did not like as much.

I've used this ball head for a couple weeks now and it is a nice upgrade from the Manfrotto head I have used for many years. Fit and finish is good, the tension control works well and solidly holds my 80D and 400mm f/5.6 without creep. I can fine tune the tension to allow for movement when tracking wildlife but hold strady when I let go. The only problem I have with it is the width of the quick release plate supplied is slightly wider than the Kirk plate I ordered for my camera, so there is some extra loosening and tightening between the two plates. I will probably get a Kirk plate for my lens and eliminate this problem. My only regret is not getting one sooner!
