A: A V-mount battery plugged into the DC port of a C300 II will not charge the internal battery of the camera, but it will be the prioritized power source so that the internal battery is not depleaded while the V-mount one is in use.

Q: 5. Description says it sits at an angle. That makes sense for hot swapping, but can it also sit flush against the back of the camera? That's what I'm looking for for hand held. An angled battery would be just as uncomfortable as the stupid canon battery design as it is.

A: Using a BP-A30 battery will allow the Wooden Camera Battery Slide to sit flush to the camera.

A: Since the Canon C400 is a newly announced product, we do not currently have compatibility information with the Wooden Camera Battery Slide for C300 Mark III and C500 Mark II (V-Mount). The 4 Pin XLR power cable would be compatible, but the mounts to the camera may not be the same distance for proper compatibility.

This item was specifically designed as described: The Gold mount Tilta Battery Plate for the C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III cameras attaches to the back of the camera using an included U-shaped top plate and a compact battery plate receiver bracket. The top plate screws onto the top of the camera and the receiver bracket onto the rear, and the battery plate secures to both of them.
