This 72mm HD MRC N1000 ND Filter from H&Y Filters is a high-definition, multicoated neutral density filter that increases exposure by 10 stops. Increasing neutral density offers finer control in available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and increasing bokeh.

The filter is made from optical glass and features multicoating for reduced lens glare, providing optimal light transmission. It does not add any coloration or other impact on the image.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you stack a B+W circular polarizing filter in front of this ND filter?

A: It is possible, but highly not recommended.

Q: 2. Is this a thin filter for use with a wide angle lens?

A: This is not classified as a thin filter.

Q: 3. Does the model that you would sent out, have the 2 pin nobs on it to control both VND & Polarizer; or does it just come with (one) for the Polarizer?

A: Based on inventory in the store that we've checked, this has 2 screw-pins on it.

Q: 4. Does it use a dial to get darker or is it fixed?

A: This is not a variable nd filter, the denisty is fixed at 6 stops.

Q: 5. Does this have hard stops or does it spin indefinitely?

A: This filter does not rotate, it is a 6 stop nd filter only and not a variable nd.

Q: 6. I current have 55mm F-Pro Kaesemann High Transmission Circular Polarize MRC Filter, can I stack this ND filter on top of the current Polarize filer ?

A: yes you can stack , I would not recommend it

Q: 7. Will this fit a Sony FE4/24-105 G OSS lens with 77mm diameter? Or do you recommend 67-82 VND filter?

A: For the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens you can go with either the 58-77mm or the 67-82mm size. The H&Y Filters RevoRing Variable ND3-ND1000 & Circular Polarizer Filter (67-82mm) would definitely work for that lens. I would choose the size based on what other lenses one may want to use this on.

Q: 8. Are these hard stop from 1.5 to 10?

A: The Kase Wolverine Magnetic Variable Neutral Density Filter with Adapter Ring, Gen 2 (82mm, 1.5 to 10-Stops) has hard stops.

Q: 9. Will Attach a magnetic filter like the K&F magnetic 82mm filters?

A: The H&Y Filters RevoRing Variable ND3-ND1000 & Circular Polarizer Filter (67-82mm) is a screw on filter and not magnetic.

Q: 10. can you add another B&W filter on top of this one?

A: Yes, although depending on your focal length you will start to see vignetting and potentially the edge of the filter in the corners of the frame. This will be especially true at wider angles and with more filters stacked.
