The reversible leg design lets if fold down to a length of 14", easily packed in a backpack or in carry-on luggage. The legs feature twist-lock joints for rapid opening and closing, and two have foam grip pads. The 2-segment center column is removable and reversible and has a ballast hook for added stability. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How tall can the Sirius A1005 tripod w y-10 ball head without the center post extended?

A: It is 42.7" maximum height without center post extended.

Q: 2. I'm planning on using it with Gimbal head and D7200 with 150-600 mm Sigma Sport lens?

A: If your inquiry is may the Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod with E-20 Ball Head be used with a gimbal head and your Nikon D7200/Sigma 150-600mm lens combination, then the answer is yes. The combined weight of the Nikon D7200 DSLR camera and the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon is 7.79 lbs (3.53 kg), and the Sirui ET-2004 Aluminum Tripod with E-20 Ball Head has a maximum load capacity of 26.5 lb (12 kg).

Q: 3. Does this convert to a Monopod? Can it handle Nikkor D750 with 200_500 lens?

A: I don't think it will convert to a monopod.A long lens could work on a 200 to 500 depending on where the mount bracket is. I have a Tokina 150- 500 that I use on a monopod most of the time for sports action it has the mount in the middle and is well balanced

Q: 4. Will Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way Gear head fit on this leg?

A: Yes.

Q: 5. How will it hold a Canon 6D with a sigma 150-500 mm lens?

A: Can't speak to that specific model but the lbs rating lives up to whatever you can throw at it. This tripod has heavy duty construction amd is very stable. You'll be hard pressed to find a better value or a more compact tripod with this weight rating. I had to tighten down the leg supports after a couple uses with heavy gear but i haven't had slipage since. Again, you won't go wrong here.

Q: 6. Does it have a level? How many?

A: Yes, there is one spirit level on the ballhead.

Q: 7. Is this tripod and head strong enough to effectively support a canon 5d Mk iii with a 70-300 L lens?

A: It depends. With the legs outstretched to the widest angle, it's fine with my Canon 5D and Canon 7D with a 100-400mm with and without a 1.4x extender. I use battery grips on both bodies. However, the tripod is wobbly and prone to falling over in the wind when the legs are set at the narrowest angle. I bought mine to use in a blind while shooting wildlife and sometimes use it for macro work. I backpack with mine and haul it around in panniers when cycling. The weight was fairly close to the carbon fiber model of similar design. The build quality is beyond comparison and very durable for a tripod in this price range. I own other tripods from Manfrotto and Gitzo but wanted another tripod to use exclusively in the field.

Q: 8. Does the TY-50E Quick Release Plate have a 1/4 X 20 threaded hole to facilitate attachment of my hand strap to the plate, when the plate is attached to the camera?

A: The Sirui TY-LP40 and TY-LP70 plates have a threaded 1/4 x 20 hole to attach your hand strap. The TY-50E has a slot that you can put a strap through

Q: 9. I really like the concept behind this tripod, It will fit in my bag and is a half pound lighter than the 2004. I have two questions 1) I assume I can replace the ballhead (I already have a good Markins one). It doesn't seem they sell them separtely (legs from head). 2) Do you think the setup can stably handle a 150-450mm lens (4.4lbs/2 kg) lens on a smallish SLR body?

A: Ye it can easily handle the setup

Q: 10. What have been your experiences with this tripod? Have you found that the legs collapse easily? Must you be extra careful tightening the legs?. The column that goes up and down, must you also be vigilant that it too has been tightened "hard"? And, finally, the ballhead itself, can it hold without sagging ( or tipping over) a NIKON D90 or D7000 or D610 with battery grips and a 300MM lens?

A: The A1005Y is an excellent combination of streanth & portability. It has a 22 pound load capacity, well within your system requirements. The Sirui twist lock system only requires 1/2 turn to loosen or tighten. When loosened the legs move smoothly. When tightened they are solid. The Y-10 head is very solid. No Sirui products require excessive force to function properly.
