The Neutrik Modular 48-Point 1/4" TRS Balanced Patch Bay is a single-unit 19" rack mountable patch bay in a reinforced metal housing. The patch bay has 48 PCB channels in 24 front pairs and 24 rear pairs. Each pair can be grounded separately or in groups according to your preference by simply attaching the supplied grounding clips to the grounding pad of the corresponding channel. The PCBs are clamped without bolts or nuts between the front and back panel of the rack enclosure. The patch bay is designed with improved non-tarnishing contacts to minimize long-term wear and flippable PC boards that make it easy to reconfigure. The device features a gray-colored normalling jack that is easy to identify and connect with when wiring the unit for normalled, half-normalled, or isolated configurations.

Q: 1. Would this be ok with the Videomic Go II on a boom arm and connecting to the Sony ZV-E10?

A: Yes. The RODE SC2 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Coiled Patch Cable is compatible for use with the RODE VideoMic GO II and the Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera, however, you may need a longer cable if the mic is mounted on a boompole. You will probably want to use it together with an extension cable such as the RODE VC1 3.5mm TRS Microphone Extension Cable for Cameras - 10' (B&H # ROVC1) or the Pearstone 3.5mm Stereo Male to Female Extension Cable - 25' (B&H # PEMMSB125B).

Q: 2. Is this TRS or TS? The description says TRS but the photo shows TS.

A: The Mogami SS-01 PurePatch cable is TRS, not TS. We will update the photo right away. Thank you for pointing out that we have the wrong photo posted for the 1-foot length cable. You can see the correct photo showing TRS connectors posted for all of the other available lengths. For example, B&H # MOPPTRSTRS2 is the 2-foot version of the same PurePatch cable and the photo shows the correct TRS connectors.

Q: 3. Will this record into a macbook pro from the rode wireless go? I am trying to record to an application and want to use the rode go as the mic.

A: To record nto the Macbook Pro from the Rode GO you will need an interface and adapter. Two good options would be: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1479273-REG/focusrite_scarlett_solo_3g_scarlett_solo_usb_audio.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/387850-REG/Rode_VXLR_VXLR_Mono_Mini_Jack.html

Q: 4. Can I use this to plug my Zoom H1n to my camera?

A: Hello Di, I don't see any reason why not. You should be good as long as the camera has a standard 1/8" TRS 3.5mm input jack.

Q: 5. are the screw holes threaded?

A: Regarding the TecNec Pre-Punched Patch Panel for 8 Neutrik D-Type Connectors, no, the screw holes are not threaded.

Q: 6. How will these work between an audio interface and a pair of powered nearfield monitors?Which is ideal, balanced or unbalanced cables?Thank you.

A: The Hosa HSS-005 is a solid choice for a well priced quality cable. Powered monitor inputs and audio interface outputs are generally designed to be used with balanced cables. This is usually noted in the documentation, and in the case of the monitors printed directly on the unit. The benefit of a balanced cable would be superior rejection of RF into the cable vs. an unbalanced cable. This will come into play for longer cable runs.

Q: 7. What gauge?

A: 24 AWG

Q: 8. Is this compatible on the VIDEO MICRO for mirrorless camera?

A: The cable will connect. But the camera must offer plug-in power for the microphone to work.

Q: 9. Can this cord be used to replace the one that came with the Rode VIDEOMIC GO?

A: Yes, that is correct.

Q: 10. Is this a stereo cable? need it for electric piano to receiver...

A: This is not meant to be stereo cable. However it will work as stereo cable. Just to keep in mind - this cable is more for PA systems or average home studio systems and not of a category for high end audio or hifi audio. This cable seems to have higher resistance than normal stereo cable in my experience.

No surprise that Neutrik put high quality connectors into this unit. No noise, no bleed.

I only use the ports half-normalled, so I haven't flipped any of the connectors. I didn't need the switches that Samson and ART have on their patchbays, so I'm grateful I don't have any switches that I have to worry about failing.

Straight forward balanced patch field that is simply configured for exactly what each pair requires - even while its in the rack. The Neutrik brand also makes me feel that despite the very reasonable cost it will provide years of service. Comes with everything you need to install & configure.

Well built patch bay does what it’s supposed to. Only niggle is the switches for normal/half normal are difficult to get to once it’s all plugged in but I never need to change them so it’s not a big deal

I didn't want to punch everything down with this patch bay, so went with the 1/4 variety. It ships in the 1/2 normalled configuration (which is easy to change from the front panel - just pop off the panel, and flip that individual channel's printed circuit board). It also has various grounding options per channel, if you run into grounding problems. Ships with 4 white strips with sticky backing - for those who like to label their patch bays. My favorite feature: the back of the bay is also numbered!! This is extremely helpful when setting up, but is not a very common occurance with other bays I have seen. All around quality unit. And with the Neutrik name stamped on it, I expect the contacts/connectors to last longer than your average bargain brand. Only complaint: the unit is very shallow. You can't place it between 2 other devices, because you won't be able to fit your hands to the rear of the unit to set up your patches.
