A: Unfortunately the Nanuk backpacks are not made to be used with inserts.

Q: 2. Is this the correct insert for a 1615 case? According to Pelicase's website there is no padded insert for the 1615 case. The 1615 insert is for the 1610 case.

A: That is not including the Lid Depth. The Lid Depth is: 2.1 (55 mm).

A: The Nanuk 935 case is too large for a 16 inch laptop. It would fit but it is really not recommended.

A: There is no one intended placement. The inserts are velco and can be moved to accommodate the gear you are intending to use.

Q: 6. is there a padded divider like this for the 22x17x8 (peli 1600) non-air pelican case?

A: These dividers are gray.

A: This product is designed specifically to fit in to the Pelican 1605 Protector Air Case, BH # PE1605ACNFBK. That case has Interior Dimensions of 26 x 14 x 8.4 inches, which will be the outer dimensions of this product as it will fit snug in that case.

Q: 10. Can any of the dividers be combined to separate lengthwise? Also, the inside dimension are more important the the external since we already know this will fit the case it is designed for.

A: The padding can be rearranged in just about any orientation. The padding is about 1/2" thick. The internal dimensions will vary based on the layout.

The foam is fine for case content that will not change over time along with a more finely tuned shape. However; The padded divider can yield more years of service and changes to configuration. 5

I originally got the pluck out foam with my 935 case. This is so much better IMO. Gave a second life to my case after I sold the equipment I originally plucked the foam for. Well made and highly customizable. Fits my FF Sony body, my three lenses (20mm G, 24-105 G and 70-200 GM), a wireless mic kit, spare batteries, cables, filters... A piece of advice: get some reusable silica gel packs to throw into this if you live in a humid environment like I do. 5

From Nanuk, so it fits perfectly. Plenty of dividers, fuzzy interior so dividers can be adjusted exactly where needed. Light color to easily see small parts down inside. Comes pre-assembled, so I just dropped it in and ready to go. Good choice for the Nanuk 935. 5

Bought this to go into my Nanuk case to allow for changes to my gear as I take them on shoots. I use the foam inserts in all the others, but customize this case with the required gear I wish to take out. Great quality, not cheap, but makes the whole Nanuk case experience great. 5

Anything rates better or worse upon comparison. We are all used to padded dividers be it in camera bags, slingshots, backpacks etc., so even for a case like the Nanuk (which is superb) padded dividers are far better than foam. Also, once you use the foam insert, the compartments cannot be changed, unlike the padded divider that you can and will alter to your needs. So whenever buying a case (such as the NANUK 935, which is absolutely gorgeous) opt on the one with padded divider. Excellent quality, BTW. 5
