The BOYA BY-M1DM Dual Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone features two lav mics attached to a single 3.5mm TRRS connector, making it easy to record two people at the same time to your smartphone, DSLR/mirrorless camera, camcorder, recorder, computer, or similar device.

Great for interviews, the mics feature forgiving, omnidirectional pickup patterns that help maintain consistent audio levels, even when the speaker turns away from the microphone. Each mic is routed to a discrete channel, allowing you to adjust the individual levels later in your editing software for just the right balance. The 74 dB signal-to-noise ratio helps cut down on noise and hiss for more professional-sounding recordings.

Powered is supplied by your smartphone or by the included LR44 battery if you're recording to a camera. Two foam windscreens and two lapel clips to attach the mics to clothing are also included, along with a carrying pouch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this mic plug into an IPhone xr?

A: Yes, the BY-M1 can be connected to your iPhone when used with a Lightning adapter such as the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP).

Q: 2. How would you use this with an iPhone 14 Pro?

A: To use the BOYA BY-M1DM Dual Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with an iPhone, you would require the Apple Lightning Headphone Adapter (BH #APLAADAP).

Q: 3. Will this work with an Ipad?

A: It will, however, depending on which iPad you are using you may need an adapter.

Q: 4. Does it work with iPad?

A: Iphones and Android input mono via their TRRS (headphone) jacks. Both mikes will record onto 1 channel. The Rode SC6-L will input a true stereo input into an IOS device through it's lightning connector. This Polsen OLM-20 will input into an Ipad 1 channel mixing both microphones.

Q: 5. What is the battery run time? (Will I have to constantly buy batteries to use this?)

A: Boya does not provide information on battery life but if used with a smart phone no battery is necessary.

Q: 6. For staff - Can I use the dual lav with my Panasonic Lumix G7 directly? Can I use the dual lav with this adaptor ( a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/985832-REG/kopul_a_xmmf_adapter_xlr_male.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/985832-REG/kopul_a_xmmf_adapter_xlr_male.html/a ) to my Tascam DR-40? (there an issue going into one XLR on this recorded? Thanks so much!

A: The OLM-20 is directly compatible with the Lumix G7 and will record both mics discreetly to left and right sides. It can be used with the Kopul adapter as well, however will combine both sides to single mono signal when connected to the recorder.

Q: 7. What is the length of the cable?

A: The cable length is 2m (6.6')

Q: 8. Can this be used through a digital audio interface into mu computer?

A: Yes. It would go into the XLR input.

Q: 9. When I plug this mic into my Mac, input works fine but output goes to "headphones" and so I cannot hear anything. How to get the sound to go to the Mac speakers?

A: When headphones are connected, speakers are automatically disconnected. This is the way it is supposed to be and cannot be used with both headphones and speakers simultaneously. Sorry.

Q: 10. Can I use this with an Ipad?

A: This lavalier microphone can be used with Apple iPad. Depending on the model, you most likely would also need the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, BH #APLAADAP to connect into the digital input of the iPad.
