Prime wide-angle lens is designed for X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 35mm equivalent focal length.

Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.

Two SD elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.

Multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

STM stepping motor enables quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. Additionally, an internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during use for improved handling and quicker response.

De-clicked aperture ring offers silent and smooth aperture transitions to benefit video recording. Also, this ring features an 'A' position for automated, camera-based aperture selection.

Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Tokina atx-m 23mm f/1.4 come with a six year Tokina warranty or any warranty from Tokina?

A: The Tokina atx-m 23mm f/1.4 Lens for FUJIFILM X has a two-year Tokina warranty.

Q: 2. How much focus breathing is there on this lens?

A: There is no specific information as to how much focus breathing the Tokina atx-m 33mm f/1.4 X Lens for FUJIFILM X has. But it does seem to be very little.

Q: 3. What is the f-stop equivalent (in 35mm)? Something like 1.4x1.5=f2.1?

A: Aperture (f-stop) values are equivalent across camera formats and sensor sizes.

Q: 4. Does this have manual focus like the first 23mm or is it auto only like the 90mm?

A: This lens doesn't have a manual focus clutch like the 23mm 1.4 mark I. It is focused electronically.

Q: 5. Is this lens weather resistant like the Fujinon XF 35mm F2 WR?

A: Unfortunately, this lens is not weather-sealed.

Q: 6. Would this be a good travel lens? The older 1.4 was very light and compact.

A: The FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR Lens will be an excellent travel lens as many photographers find the 35 mm (on a 35 mm) focal length ideal for travel. The lens offers exceptional details, sharpness, and weather sealing.

Q: 7. Help with selection. Voigtlander Nokton 23/1.4 or Fujifilm XF 23mm F/1.4 LM WR?

A: The Voigtlander Nokton 23mm f/1.2 Aspherical Lens for FUJIFILM X is a manual lens and the FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR Lens supports autofocus. So most prefer a lens with autofocus and would go with the Fujifilm brand one.

Q: 8. Not sure the answer given is what the customer intended, or maybe it was... Anyway, I was wondering if the other person wanted to know if the Tokina (electric contact points on the lens mount) communicates with the camera internals on the Fuji. Fuji is noted for holding lens communication protocols close to the vest. Has that changed?

A: Yes. In this particular case, Kenko-Tokina has licensed the communication/AF protocols from Fujifilm. This is information sourced through the web, from an interview by DPReview with Fujifilm's general manager of their Optical Device and Electronic Imaging Products Division. See those articles here: https://bit.ly/3azG1Tl https://bit.ly/3j1DmFL

Q: 9. Can someone recommend a neoprene case that would fit this attached to an X-T3?

A: There are a few neoprene cases that will fit the X-t3 with the XF 23mm lens attached. This is some option, https://bhpho.to/41w66uF .

Q: 10. Has this lens been discontinued? I've just noticed that it's scarcer online than it was earlier this year.

A: The Tokina atx-m 23mm f/1.4 Lens for FUJIFILM X is still a current item.

This is the lens that's standard on my camera most days during travel or random photo hikes. The colors are accurate, and its reasonably sharp through most of the frame.

The build quality is excellent, solid metal with a good weight to it, only disadvantage is that its very cold and adds to the iced fingers feeling on single digit days.

I'd say its definitely worth having in your kit as an essential focal length and for its solid low light capabilities.

Bought the lens to use for a Fujifilm X Pro3. Solid built, good optics. The aperture ring is a bit on the small site but still easy to use. Lots of fun and great value.

I haven't had any problems with this lens. great depth of field. the only thing is that when you first get the lens you have to enable shooting without a lens because the camera doesn't know that there is a lens attached because there are no electronics on the lens other than that this is a great lens and i love tt artison a a brand
