Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this bracket really modular with a removable side piece as stated in the description? From what I've read on the RRS website and elsewhere, this is a one piece unit that allows the L side piece to slide away from the camera but not be completely removed. Apparently, this was a RRS design decision that has caused some consternation among RRS fans.

A: The description has been corrected to reflect that the bracket is a single piece, not modular.

Q: 2. Is there a RRS baseplate for the BGR10-L - not a L bracket?

A: There is only the Really Right Stuff Base Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 Mirrorless Camera, BH # REBPCER56. https://bhpho.to/2XnTeuA

Q: 3. Has anyone used this Kirk PZ-184 plate with a Really Right Stuff lever release clamp? RRS indicates that not all plates will fit their lever release clamps due to very tight tolerances. The RRS plate for the EOS R5 and R6 is currently on back-order.

A: Yes this plate is compatible with RRS clamps.

Q: 4. How thick is the PZ-184? (ignoring the locating spigots that stick up from the flat deck)

A: The Kirk Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 Digital Cameras is 10mm thick.

Q: 5. does this have 1 or 2 QD sockets? description says 2 but picutre shows 1

A: This bracket has one QD socket.

Q: 6. can use with R5C with battery grip ???

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff L bracket is designed for the EOS R5 and R6 to be used with the BG-R10 Vertical Battery Grip.

Q: 7. Does the screw stay attached?

A: Yes, the hex screw stays attached

Q: 8. Does the plate have a threaded attachment on the bottom? This would be for attaching a Black Rapid attachment lug.

A: There is a standard female 1/4"-20 threaded tripod socket on the bottom base of the Kirk Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 Digital Cameras.

Q: 9. Does this plate also fit R5/R6 with battery grip?

A: The Kirk PZ-185 Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 with BG-R10 Grip, BH # KIPZ185 would be best. https://bhpho.to/3nwgcbb

Q: 10. Hello! Can anyone confirm if this plate clamps properly and tightly with the Really Right Stuff lever clamp ballheads (mine is the BH-55)?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the Kirk PZ-185 Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 with BG-R10 Grip would be compatible for use with the lever clamp used on the Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head. According to Really Right Stuff's website, only Really Right Stuff and Wimberly build their quick release plates to the same tolerances. While screw-knob style clamps are much more forgiving of slight differences in plate width, Really Right Stuff's screw-knob clamps will work with all versions of Arca-type compatible quick release plates. However, as Really Right Stuff's lever-release clamps are not user-adjustable and the plates used in the clam have the be EXACTLY the right width, they only guarantee Really Right Stuff and Wimberley plates as compatible with their lever clamps, so I cannot guarantee the Kirk plate will work with your ball head/clamp.

I needed this bracket for the use of the flash rotating system and was a little worried if the attachment of futher RRS extensions would not be stiff enough due to the hole for screen rotation (which I rarely would use anyway) but it is as all my RRS L brackets from outstanding build quality.
The additional magnetic hex screwdriver is a new feature which is very useful!!
