Featuring a modified design that permits greater side-to-side movement, this clamp measures 1.5" between the centers of the ball recesses. The splashy red anodized T-knob makes tightening and loosening the clamp easy, and it can be useful in the cinema industry for color-coding camera rigs.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the FB-52 handle a Nikon D300s with battery pack and 400 F3.5 Nikkor lens?

A: Yes, it handles up to 44lbs, more than enough to handle this kit well.

Q: 2. Please, I am requesting from other serious hobbyists and pros out there: Will the Really Right Stuff Ultralight L-Plate for Nikon D850 B&H # REBD850L MFR # BD850-L ULTRALIGHT L-PLATE work with the RRS BH-55 without any additional part or adapter for a strong connection between the two parts? I will be shooting landscapes in portrait mode with a Nikon D850 (without a grip.) I do not plan to do any stitching of panoramas in post. I will be shooting just individual, carefully shot photos with a Nikon 14-24 2.8, or Nikon 20mm 1.4, plus appropriate filters. Thank you for any relevant feedback you are willing to share.

A: Yes, it will fit with the BH55 without any additional parts.

Q: 3. Can this be use on Robus RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod ?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the Robus 5570.

Q: 4. Will this Ball Head mount to a Manfrotto Tripod?

A: This ball head will mount to any standard 3/8" mounting screw, which is nearly all Manfrotto tripods with a removable head.

Q: 5. Does this truly pan 360 degrees or is panning achieved only by movement of the ball?

A: The BH-25 will pan by the movement of the ball head. The BH-30 will have a seperate panning lever. See: https://bhpho.to/2yDP42r.

Q: 6. Will this ballhead hold nikon d800 plus 80-400 mm lens?

A: The combined weight of the Nikon D800 DSLR camera and the Nikon is 5.43 lbs. As such, the would work to support your camera/lens setup. While it is personal preference, as a safety precaution, I typically like recommending tripod heads with a maximum load capacity that is 3x higher than the combined camera/lens setup weight. As such, my personal recommendation would usually be for the Really Right Stuff BH-40 Ball Head with B2-mAS Mini Clamp, B&H # REBH40PRO, or if you needed a head with a smaller base diameter, the Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp, B&H # REBH30PRO, is a good option, but yes, the Really Right Stuff BH-25 Ball Head would work for your usage needs.

Q: 7. Does this ball head come with a quick release plate?

A: Unfortunately, the BH-55 does not include a quick release plate. A suitable plate to fit most cameras to this head is the Really Right Stuff BP-CS Multi-Camera Conventional Plate, B&H # REBPCSPLATE. https://bhpho.to/33pXg7o

Q: 8. Has anyone had any experience with the FB-52 ballhead?

A: The majority of Sunwayfoto ball-heads sold by B&H have 4 to 5* reviews. Most of their other products have the same ratings. We feel that you will be satisfied with your purchase of this head.

Q: 9. Will this support a Sony a7riii and a 24-70 f4 lens?

A: Yes, but a bigger head with a bit higher load capacity would be a better fit.

Q: 10. The RRS website shows a Full Size Screw Knob option for the BH-30. That option is not shown on the B&H website. Is it an option from B&H?

A: I'm sorry, that is a version that B&H doesn't carry at the moment.

I always admired the exceptional quality associated with Really Right Stuff products, and I originally purchased the BH-55 Ball Head, but I felt that it was just too heavy. So I exchanged it for the BH-40 model, and it's just the perfect weight without sacrificing build-quality. It's so easy to adjust, and it's definitely able to easily support my D850 with the 200-500mm lens without a problem. The operation is so smooth! I'm so glad I made this purchase.

While many might prefer the lever locking ball head, I like the fully adjustability of the screw-knob clamp. I'll take the extra five seconds to be sure of the tight lock. As to product quality -- what more is there to say than it is the Really Right Stuff!

Using this for travel around the world. Compact and great quality. Use it with Nikon D850 and D750. Both with battery grips. No problem handling this weight!

I have several ball heads and the BH-40 is the best of its size of all of them.

Yes, it is expensive but precision made in the US. A piece of art.

This ballhead states 17 lbs. it will hold it. Most ballheads only hold half of what is stated.

Don't buy the cheap ones and break your gear.
