At 7 feet full extension this boom ticks all my boxes. Well made and super strong. I do wish it came with the 5/8 hook for hanging a counter weight but this is a minor thing. Just buy the Matthews it's the best in class from a quality company.

This is a great addition to my lighting kit, and allows me to lift some of my larger modifiers and flashes without the base stand getting in the way of where I want to position my camera. I wasn't sure I'd use it much, but it has become a staple for my main light support, particularly in portrait photography. My heaviest setup is about 10lbs and it has no problem handling that load.

Does what it says. Hanging a medium sized chimera china ball has worked out great. I never have any issues with Matthews equipment.
