Well suited for mobile entertainers, the CHAUVET DJ Wash FX Hex is a multipurpose 6-color effect light that doubles as a standard wash light, blinder, and an eye-candy effect with six chasing zones. The fixture utilizes eighteen hex-color RGBAW+UV (red, green, blue, amber, white, and ultraviolet) LEDs, which are capable of rich color mixing. Additionally, the light offers six separate zones, each with chase programming for a powerful special effects palette.

The Wash FX Hex can operate in standalone, sound active, master/slave, and DMX modes, or by using the optional IRC-6 remote. DMX channel modes include 3, 6, 11, 40 for simple to advanced controls. Additionally, up to 3 units (at 120 V) can be power linked, which helps simplify set up and cabling. The CHAUVET DJ Wash FX Hex ships with a standard power cord and mounting bracket.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone know if these run at a refresh of 50hz? All of our other lights run at 50hz locked, and most lights I find are at 60hz. This creates a problem with our camera shutter speeds, because either one of the other causes a flicker on camera.

A: ***Please send this to our Pro Audio DJ dept. ******

Q: 2. Max throw distance?

A: Of course, the answer is dependent on what color combination you use. We are using 7 of these on a 35ft X 15ft stage. The lights cross-throw and are approximately 40ft from their landing point. The entire stage is very well lit at about 80 percent dimmer brightness. Hope this helps.

Q: 3. Is flicker free?

A: It is flicker free.

Q: 4. What color temperature are these lights when set to pure white?

A: According to the manufacturer its 6300k.

Q: 5. Can you purchase barn doors for these fixtures?

A: No.

Q: 6. Can I have one hub transmit to another hub? I'm looking for an option where I can connect one hub to my lightboard and transmit to a receiver that is connected to one light that is then daisy-chained the conventional way with DMX cables.

A: Being that this unit can be a transmitter or a receiver, you can transmitter from one to the other.

Q: 7. Is the fan speed constant, or does it vary with temp/load like the Chauvet Obsession HP?

A: This light has no fan convection cooling

Q: 8. Do you need a dimmer pack for these?

A: Hi Ben, No, you do not need a dimmer pack.

Q: 9. Is this battery operated with no wires required?

A: No, it needs to be plugged in to operate.

Q: 10. The specs state: 12x 15 W 6-in-1 RGBAW+UV LEDs. So 12X 15Watt = 180 Watts. At 180 Watts I would indeed by a few of these lights however Power Consumption states 42 watts! This indicates about 20% of the stated light output. Are these lights in fact 42 Watts or 180 Watts? If they are 180 Watts, the power consumption should be about 185-190 Watt total. Thanks for any help!

A: Each LED emitter is capable of generating six types of light (hence the 6-in-1 designation). However, each emitter does not do so at the same time. For example, if set to emit only UV light, it will not also emit red, blue, white, amber, or green light. Now, each 6-in-1 emitter is really and truly six emitters in one. The draw for each of those six is a lot less than 15W. However, the standard practice in electronics is to list each six-in-one emitter according to the total that its six subcomponents can create, not the amount they would create on any one setting.

Very sturdy, good materials, goes very high. The only negative thing is it does not go very low but that is the tradeoff you make if you want something that is heavy duty.

This is a much sturdier, more reliable stand than a prior one which was defective and challenging when I used it for an indoor all white event.
This replacement is sturdier, more reliable but more importantly, provides strong stability. Would highly recommend.
