This mic is perfect for recording directly to computers, be they mac or windows systems. With the right, separately available adapters, you can also record with Android and iOS devices.

Don't want to use a computer or a mobile device? Not a problem: the built-in recorder can hold up to 12 hours of wav files. This feature, combined with the rechargeable battery, allows for versatile and mobile operation.

The Tula features controls for headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute, and microphone gain—putting you in charge of every level of the recording process. Also on hand are controls for the built-in recorder as well as a button for the built-in noise-reduction. Literally everything you need to control is intuitively built into the microphone itself, so you don't have to fiddle with any software operations.

Choose Cardioid if it's just you speaking in an untreated room: cardioid polar patterns are a great natural defense against picking up unwanted room tone. If you're recording more people, or want a more honest, true-to-life sound, choose the omnidirectional polar pattern, which picks up audio equally all around the capsule.

The mic has an integrated headphone jack with an independent gain control for latency-free monitoring. Simply plug your headphones into the mic's 3.5mm input, and you'll hear your broadcast-quality audio in all its glory.

The mic records audio at 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. On the audio side, the two-capsule design ensures that whatever mode you choose, the mic will pick up a clear and present sound.

The Tula Mic can also be switched to 44.1 kHz for use with Akai MPC Series devices.

The Tula Mic is brought to you by the team behind the world-renowned Soyuz Microphones. Like Soyuz mics, the Tula features an open top end that's never harsh, a pleasant midrange, and a low end that's full without being boomy. Featuring Burr Brown op amps and dedicated cardioid and omni capsules, the Tula provides professional-quality audio in a wide variety of situations.

Just plug the Tula into your computer's USB port with the included USB cable, select it as a device in your recording software, and you're ready to get to work. Or, hit the Record button on the side of the mic, and start recording without an external device. The mic runs either off buss power or built-in battery power: the choice is yours.

The Tula ships with an integrated stand for easy placement, but you can remove it if need be and attach the mic to any threaded stand with the commensurate connections.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you recommend a mic stand adapter for this? Say's the diameter is .75"

A: You can use a shockmount like the Auray SHM-ESG Suspension Shockmount for Shotgun Microphones (B&H # AUSHMESG),the RODE SM4-R Suspension Shockmount (B&H # ROSM4R), the Airo by K-Tek ASM1 Shockmount 1 (B&H # AIASM1), or the Audio-Technica AT8415 Universal Shockmount (B&H # AUAT8415).

Q: 2. What is the length of the threaded section? Long enough to attach camera AND locking nut?

A: This is not a published specification. But it would appear to be just over an inch.

Q: 3. Can I couple the Stanmore III with the Stanmore II?

A: I am not seeing outputs available on either the Stanmore III or the Stanmore II model to be able to use them together. There are made to bluetooth pair to 1 source, or connect to 1 source, with no additional output.

Q: 4. Will this mic diameter fit well on the mic holder that comes with the Fx6?

A: Although Sony does not specify the diameter of or compatibility for the microphone holder found on the FX6, the 0.75" diameter found on the Deity Microphones S-Mic 2S Moisture-Resistant Short Shotgun Microphone is relatively common and will likely fit nicely inside the FX6 microphone holder.

Q: 5. I lost my foam windscreen for this mic, any recommendation for replacements?

A: Please review the following item. Auray WSF-2029 Foam Windscreen for Shotgun Microphones - (29cm) BH #AUWSF2029 • MFR #WSF-2029 https://bhpho.to/3GGDIgJ

Q: 6. Would the Rycote 18cm not be too large for this mic? Just wondering whether the 12cm Rycote wouldn't be a better fit for a mic that has a length of 148mm?

A: Yes. The 12cm would be a better fit.

Q: 7. I'm looking at the Cloudlifter CL-1, CL-2 (2-channel), the CL-4 (4-channel 1-up rackmount) and this CL-Z. I understand the value of a switchable high-pass filter (removing low-end rumble, etc.), but I don't understand the value of variable impedance, especially since the CL-Z appears to add a potentiometer to the signal path. Does the "knob" allow you to "tune" the mic to what sounds best to you? What are the physics behind the "Z"? Thanks for your help!

A: Each mic will have it's own resistance rating that will sound best. By being able to adjust it you can fine tune the Cloud Lifter to sound as best as it can with each mic, instead of a one size fits all option. You can also use it creatively to create sounds the mic normally would not be able to do.

Q: 8. Will this work with 1/2in ceiling grid?

A: The PANAVISE T-Bar Clip (Black) BH #PATBCCB iis compatible with the most commonly installed ceiling grid; the standard 15/16” grid commonly known as the 1” wide grid.

Q: 9. will this mic fit perfectly in the XLR handle for the Sony FX30? not loose? just right?

A: The Deity Microphones S-Mic 2S Moisture-Resistant Short Shotgun Microphone will not fit perfectly inside the Sony FX30 camera bracket, a spacer will be required, we recommend this item: Auray Rubber Spacer Sleeve for XLR Shotgun Microphones on Camcorders B&H # AURSSMCAM45 MFR # RSSM-CAM45

Q: 10. Only works with Phantom Power?

A: Yes, the Deity Microphones S-Mic 2S Shotgun Microphone operates using phantom power only.

I didn't expect this studio boom arm to work as well as it does. Installation was incredibly easy. However, keep in mind that this studio boom arm will be a bit tricky if your microphone is rather heavy. My Rode NT1-A is a bit annoying to work with due to its size and that it's a side address mic, so I am planning to switch out the mic for a Rode Pod Mic.

Upgrade from a janky boom arm that came with a starter podcast setup. So much easier to control and handle when needing to make little adjustments. Seems very well built. Love it

I read many reviews before purchasing the PSA1 and it lives up to its reputation. The spring load is strong so you need a microphone that has some weight to it for to stay put.

Love this stand clamped onto my desk (current top is a Ikea counter top, 1.5 thick). The arm comes separate from the base making installation and moving a lot easier.

I am using this with a Roswell mink K47 large condenser mic and shock mount weighing about 0.9 lbs. I find that this Rode PSA1 arm has plenty of reach, and the mic stays right where I put it. The reach on this particular arm is a little longer than many of the other boom arms, and is enough to get the mic across the desk, and in front of me. I'm glad I picked this one.

The design and quality of the PSA1 boom arm is superb. The parts, fit and finish is teriffic, as is the smooth articulation of the arm. I love the fact that the springs are hidden - this gives it a very clean look and feel. Yes you can get cheaper alternatives, but you pay for what you get, and in this case a top quality unit, designed to provide years of troublefree service.

I'm a fan of well designed things, and the Rode PSA1 definitely qualifies. Super sturdy engineering for solid performance.
