Each Resolv SE5 Two-Way Active 5" Studio Monitor from Samson features 70 watts of power, a dedicated power amp and an electronic crossover. The 5" woven carbon fiber woofer provides tight and controlled low frequency response, while its 1.25" soft dome tweeter gives the high frequencies a natural sound without unwanted resonance. The Resolv SE5 also includes a 4-position high frequency lift control, allowing the monitor to be optimized for different mixing environments.

This Resolv's enclosure is constructed of solid MDF. Inset into the panel is a time-aligned waveguide that allows for a wide listening area with minimum diffraction. The SE5 is AV shielded for seamless operation near CRT monitors and other sensitive electronics. The rear panel has a balanced 1/4" TRS input as well as an unbalanced RCA input. Additionally, the front ports are slotted with rounded inner edges, helping reduce port noise at high SPLs.

A: These speakers cannot be daisy-chained.

Q: 2. Are the woofer surrounds foam or butyl rubber? Has anyone found a pro review of these FX50 speakers?

A: These JBL studio monitors would sound great as front surround speakers, but they must come out of the pre amp, and given an audio only signal, because they have their own built-in power.

Q: 5. Are these Mackie HR824mk2 monitors sold as a pair or individuals?

A: The Mackie HR824mk2 monitors are sold as individual units.

Q: 6. Are these monitors shielded?

A: No, the Genelec 8030C 5" 2-Way 100W Active Studio Monitors are not shielded. The Genelec models that have an "M" at the end of the manufacturer's item code (MFR#) are magnetically shielded.

Q: 7. Does this speaker have hole mount in the bottom?

A: No, the JBL 305P MKII does not have pole mount sockets on the bottom.

Q: 8. Can the amplifier be bypassed to use as passive speakers?

A: This is an active speaker, with the amplifiers built in, so it would not be used as a passive speaker. JBL LSR708i 8" Master Reference Monitor (Single), BH #JBLSR708I would be a very god quality passive reference monitor to consider.

Q: 9. Which Genelec model is suitable for studios of size 50X23X13(Ft)?

A: That would really depend on your listening area. 8030's with a sub work work for one to two people in the listening area. 8050's would offer an 8'' woofer with better separation in the sonic field B&H # GE8050BPM. 1032c's would be great as well with a 10'' woofer and offer SAM technology BH #GE1032CPM.

I own one SC-204 that I use as my keyboard monitor. Two SC-205's and TS-108 sub. I use the 205's and sub to gig small home venues. These speakers are great. Flat sound to me and they work. Great sound for mid to upper-mid priced speakers I would buy again and recommend to all. 5

The large KH420 as well as its junior brother, the KH310, create a remarkably clean sound. They are scientifically designed by real audio engineers in Germany and offer the recording engineer or producer an extremely accurate sound. (What else would you expect from Neumann?) They are tri-amped speakers with very sharp digital 24db/octave crossovers The electronics (3 channels per speaker) are built in. All the speakers need is a line level, balanced input, such as you can easily get from the likes of a Grace m920 or M905, or just board out. The KH420's are designed for normal listening at a distance of 5 to 10 feet. The smaller KH310's do just as well sonically but they are intended to be closer to the listener's ears, say 3-5 ft. as they would be sitting on a console's meter section. The commenter has a pair of EACH of the speakers, so he knows first hand what he is describing. They are simply the very, very finest speaker systems I have heard in over 50 years of critical listening. They are pure gold. They are just super delicious to hear. Toss your hifi speakers out the window and upgrade to these very professional speaker systems. They are worth every penny, and you will never regret buying them. Just be certain you have an extremely clean signal to feed to them. Any sonic defects in source material will instantly be revealed. Not for the faint of heart! 5

Well it is true with the KH 310. Clean, accurate, detailed. You don't realize how muddy others sound until you hear the mix through this thing. 5

Great full sound and great price. I have been through a few and these are my first from Samson and I really like them. I am a video editor so great sound is important to get that full depth in comparison to when my videos are played at events with over 20,000 people. Love these. 5

Bought these last week, & couldn't wait for them to arrive. After installing them, I was blown away by the fact that they were just as loud as my mackie mr8's in an a/b test. Of course the mr8's more low end, but the clarity of the cms50's across the entire frequency spectrum was nothing short of amazing. Thanks Focal & BH!!! 5
