Enjoy accurate and lifelike sound with tons of low end, using the black Kali Audio IN-8 V2, a 3-way studio monitor designed for high-quality mixing, production, and critical listening. Kali prides itself on giving you a fantastic sound on a budget, and the IN-8 V2 lives up to their promise, with lower self-noise, an increased SPL, and smoother top end than the original IN-8.

This monitor offers an 8" woofer for the low end. Mids and highs are handled in a coincident design, with a 4" midrange driver and 1" tweeter nested inside. This driver architecture helps give the monitor a realistic stereo image along with clarity of frequency and transient representation that is essential for professional use. Class-D amplification and a carefully plotted front-port improve clarity and efficiency. Tons of options are on hand for analog connectivity and boundary-EQ settings. The monitor ships with a power cable.

The IN-8 features a Class-D amp with very little self noise, an upgraded DSP section, and upgraded transducers for better reliability.

Because of the coincident placement of the midrange and tweeter and the crossover of the woofer midrange (280 Hz), the IN-8 is an acoustic point source. This gives it an ideal directivity characteristic for a studio monitor. You will be able to hear a very lifelike stereo image with details placed clearly and consistently. Off-axis lobing that is unavoidable in a 2-way system is virtually eliminated.

Substantial work was done to optimize the midrange driver not only for its own acoustic performance, but also for its role as the waveguide for the tweeter. The shape is very precise to allow for controlled directivity at midrange to tweeter crossover, ensuring accurate summing both on and off axis. Excursion on the midrange is limited to less than 1mm peak to peak, so that the oscillation of the midrange does not have a negative effect on the tweeter.

The IN-8 incorporates all of the benefits of Kali's Lone Pine series monitors. These include optimized woofers for powerful clean bass, a front-firing port tube, and boundary-compensated EQ.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you tell me if the legs fold up? Thanks

A: No, but they can be taken off by unscrewing them.

Q: 2. will the legs fit under a couch. how thick are the legs?

A: The steel tubing for the legs is approximately 1.5" thick and around 2" at the ends with the rubber feet included. Whether or not it would fit under a couch depends on the amount of space between your floor and the bottom of the couch.

Q: 3. Do the rubber tips come off the feet? I assume they do as I think says they also come with spikes for carpet, but I,m wanting to fill the three legs with sand, and reason this can’t work?

A: The rubber tips are removable.

Q: 4. would this be good as studio suround 5:1 setup .. would this work as center speaker too?

A: It is possible to use Yamaha HS8I monitors for a 5.1 studio surround setup and you can use it as center speaker as well.

Q: 5. These speakers have no sub-out connection. How can these be connected to a sub-woofer in such a case?

A: The Kali Audio Project Lone Pine LP-UNF 4.5" Ultranearfield Studio Monitoring System (Black, Pair), B&H # KALPUNF, has no audio output for a subwoofer; a subwoofer cannot be connected to this system.

Q: 6. Will these accommadate Fluance bipolar speakers 13.8 inches wide?

A: might work. these are sturdy stands.

Q: 7. Hi! Is it a pair of stands for $79? Or just a single one? Thanks

A: This product is sold as a pair of stands.

Q: 8. can these be placed on top of other speaker stands?

A: We would not recommend that you stack these on top of floor stands. There is the possibility of stability issues that could cause the speakers to fall and get damaged and/or cause injury.

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the base? Specifically, what is its height.

A: Using the carpet spikes, the top of the base sits 2 inches off the top of the carpet. If you're using the plastic feet on a wood or concrete floor, it might sit a 1/4 inch lower. The shape of the base is an equilateral triangle with a height of 15 inches. The length of each side of the triangle is 17.25 inches. The vertical post is 1.5 inches in diameter. The post, however, is NOT centered on the base (front to back). The space between the back of the post and the back of the base is 4 inches. The space between the front of the post and the front of the base is 9.5 inches (4 + 1.5 + 9.5 = 15). I found these dimensions important as I needed the stand to go between the back of a desk and a wall without the desk having to be too far away from the wall.

Q: 10. Can the inner tubing spin 360 degrees when you unlock it and raise it up so you can get the angle that you want without moving the base? Like a C-Stand?

A: The monitor mounting plates are able to rotate so you can aim the speakers at the desired angle while the telescoping shaft is locked at the preferred height.
