The 4 x 6" Tiffen Combination 85B/ND Filter blends both an amber color conversion 85B and a 1.2 neutral density filter. The ND filtration provides a 4-stop exposure reduction for darkening the entire image in order to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The 85B filtration covers the entire filter plane and converts the color temperature to 3200K for use with type B (tungsten) films.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 6" / 101.6 x 152.4mm.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this 43mm solar filter fit these Canon lenses: RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens ; RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM Lens?

A: The Tiffen Solar ND Filter (43mm, 18-Stop, Special 50th Anniversary Edition) is too small to thread in to both of the lenses mention above. This filter is design to fit a front thread of 43mm only. Your Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens has a 77mm front thread while Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM Lens has a 67mm front threads. Tiffen makes the same filter in both of size.

A: If you are not taking photos of the sun then you don't need a solar filter.

Q: 3. How does this compare to the wide angle low profile filter that is about $40 cheaper? Which one is recommended for videography/filmmaking?

Q: 5. Is this filter recommended for digital cameras as well, like the Lumix FZ200?

A: Yes, the Tiffen 52mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter is compatible with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 Digital Camera and would fit onto the 52mm filter threads on the front of the lens, and would be recommended for usage to reduce or eliminate glare and reflections from non-metallic items and (depending on your position and the position of the sun) can also darken/deepen the blue in the sky on blue sunny days. By removing glare, it would also slightly increase teh color saturation and contrast of your image.

Q: 6. What is the thickness of the 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter by Tiffen? I plan to use it on a 17MM lens and want to make sure there is no vignetting.

A: This filters can work with any lens that has a 67mm front thread. However, you may experience vignetting on wider lenses.

Q: 9. does it work to photograph the sun and solar eclipses?

A: The Tiffen Solar ND Filter (58mm, 18-Stop, Special 50th Anniversary Edition) is for Solar Photography, Not Safe for Direct Viewing of the Sun. It is not ISO 12312-2 compliant and therefore not safe for direct viewing of the Sun. Always use approved ISO 12312-2 certified safety glasses when viewing the Sun directly.

Q: 10. Recommended circular polarizing filter for Canon 100-500 to ne used in snow conditions also use clear filter on lens allways?

A: Tiffen 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter have front threads of 77mm if you preffer to have an uv filter in the front. However this filter has the highest scratch-resistant coatings. If you would be shooting outdoors the filter factor cuts between 1.2-1.5 stop of light to help correct exposure when shooting with snow.
