Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does the signal hold on an inactive port? meaning if I have a computer connected to input 1, and I switch to input 2, does the computer on input 1 think that it has lost the connection?

A: We are not sure of the process but we know that you do not lose the signal and that you can switch back and forth at any time.

Q: 2. Does it support 4k@60 4:2:0 10 bit color space?

A: The spec for this is 4Kx2K @60Hz with 12bit YCBCR 4:2:0.

Q: 3. Is there a delay between switching inputs? I want to use this as a video switcher for a livestream and a lot have a black screen for a few seconds while switching sources.

A: Yes, there is a delay consisting of a few seconds when switching between sources. Additionally, you must scroll through the sources (you can not jump from source 1 to source 4 in a one-click/button fashion. I use this device in front of a professional HDMI switcher (Roland V1-HD) if more than 4 cameras are required and a delay can be allowed between transitions of cameras behind the 5in1 (while the transition delay is occurring another camera from the remaining three HDMI ports is on.)- Jack

Q: 4. I want to use this to switch 2 different PC's into 1 monitor. One PC has HDMI out. The other has Display port to HDMI cable, which I now plug into my monitor, and works. will I have any problems when I plug this DP to HDMI into this switch?

A: Because the PC signal through your cable does power your monitor, it should flow through the ports of the 3X1 switch to your monitor in the same fashion. A Switch has one output with multiple inputs and typically does not need external power. Conversely, a Splitter has multiple outputs and typically does require external power.

Q: 5. How clean is the switching on this unit?

A: It will not be clean when switching between inputs and outputs on this Matrix Switcher. For that you would need to look in to seamless switcher. We offer B&H # GEHDSL444, which is a 4x4 Seamless Matrix for HDMI from Gefen.https://bhpho.to/2vhS6I4

Q: 6. how much time dose it take to switch ?

A: The time to switch from one source to another should be no more than .5 second.

Q: 7. I want to see if I can use this for streaming. If I connect 3 HDMI cameras to the device, what would be a good way to check the camera feed before I make it live?

A: I dont know.

Q: 8. Does this have all 5 inputs on the back (as shown on the manufacturer site) or is one on the front?

A: I/O;Five HDMI inputsOne HDMI output

Q: 9. I assume once audio is de-embedded from an output, it is still available across the HDMI line though? Looking to pull out audio but still use it on another location display

A: Yes, the audio should still be present on the HDMI outputs.

Q: 10. Does this have HDMI 2?

A: Yes it does, this has HDMI 2.0 connections.
