The 77mm Macro Reverse Ring for Canon RF from FotodioX allows you to mount a lens in reverse onto your Canon RF mount camera, letting you use the lens for macro photography. The ring is made of aluminum, so it allows for secure attachment of your lens. Once the ring is mounted on the camera, your lens can then be screwed onto the ring via the filter thread of the lens. Any lens with a 77mm filter thread can be attached, and step-up/step-down rings can also be used. And because no other optical components are added with this ring, the image preserves the original optical properties of the lens.

I was surprised at how well this lens performed. After using the EF version for many years I would not have purchased a macro lens for my R5, but I received it as a very generous gift so I gave it a try and I can't put it down. If you're on the fence, try it out at the store. You'll want to own it.

An excellent lens for macro, much better then previous EF versions. Very sharp, although a slight softness at the center between f/8-f/16 that is only noticeable when the image is 100% enlarged. I have used it for focus bracketing and the results have been excellent. The lens is very silent when doing autofocus. Very fast autofocus. The magnification up to 1.4x is very handy when I can't get to subjects very close. Of course I have used this lens only 2-3 times. So far my observation is that this is the best Canon macro lens I have used.

I have been very happy with my RF100mm macro lens. It does a great job of stabilization so I don't have to drag a tripod around to do macro photography in the field especially for moving subjects (like bees). Autofocus and photo quality are great, and it takes great regular photos too. All of these were with the R5.
