Quickly solve the problem of simplex fiber optic cables making their way into your duplex installation, either by accident or because of damaged cabling, by using this two-pack of 1G BiDi LC SFP Simplex Fiber Transceiver Modules from TechLogiX Networx. Each of these hot-pluggable 20-pin SFP modules features a single LC connector, and they work as a pair to overcome mixed cable issues by multiplexing duplex communication onto a simplex cable to transfer at up to 1 Gb/s as far as 6.2 miles while operating at 1310 or 1550nm wavelengths. Additionally, the transceiver modules can be used with multimode cables, supporting transmission distances of up to 492 feet. Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) is also supported.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it neccessary to use an attenuator for very short runs (50m) or does anyone know the receiver overload power?

A: No you should not need to use anything like an attenuator when using the Blackmagic Design 3G SFP Optical Module.

Q: 2. Please answer question 2 by identifying compatible optical cables for this module. BH #UBACDASFP103?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UACC-OM-MM-10G-D 10G SFP+ Multi-Mode Optical Module (2-Pack) uses multimode LC fiber optic cables, like the Ubiquiti Networks Multimode LC Fiber Optic Patch Cable (9.8', Aqua), B&H # UBUOC3.

Q: 3. Can this be used to connect a Mac Pro to a monitor that has SFP+ module input - like Lilliput Q31?

A: Yes, the Sonnet Solo10G SFP+ Thunderbolt 3 to 10 Gigabit Ethernet Fanless Adapter with Short-Range SFP+ Transceiver can be use for such a connection.

Q: 4. Does the transceiver come out! I need single mode.

A: Yes, the Sonnet Solo10G SFP+ Thunderbolt 3 to 10 Gigabit Ethernet Fanless Adapter with Short-Range SFP+ Transceiver BH #SOLO10GSFPT3 has a removable transceiver.

Q: 5. does this support multimode OM3 fiber?

A: Yes, this Blackmagic Design 12G SFP Optical Module Adapter supports multimode fiber.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with the Analog Way Ascender?

A: I have no idea! i don't manufacture either and i only have the black magic line of gear

Q: 7. Hello. I have four blackmagic 4k tv studio cameras, a 40x40 blackmagic hub, and a Atem 2 blackmagic switcher. To use the full capabily conection what more i need? Tahan you

A: If you are asking about fiber connections from the Studio Camera to the ATEM switcher, you would need the ATEM Talkback Converter which will convert fiber to SDI at the studio end. Also this will provide talkback to your cameras.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the Blackmagic Design ATEM Talkback Converter 4K, Blackmagic Design ATEM Camera Converter and the Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K?

A: I have 3 of these in my Talkback Converter 4K and they work well. I was a little upset when I opened the Talkback Converter 4K and found it doesn't come with any of these modules, but that's another story. I'm only using 1080 stuff so it's not a big deal that it only passes 3G signals. As noted before though these won't work if you want to use the full 4K signal from a camera. But over 250 meters of fiber (that I've used) it sends a great 1080 signal both ways.

Q: 9. Can you list down compatible SFP+ transceiver modules (with 1G backward compatible) that fit this switch please?

A: Netgear recommends the following transceiver for use with the M4300: https://bit.ly/3UIQroE

Q: 10. What type of fiber is required?

A: Single Mode Fiber with LC connection.
