The ColorChecker Video Mega from Calibrite is designed for those longer and wider shots when you need a larger reference target. Both will speed up your color correction process and save you hours in post. Use it to nail exposure, match multiple cameras and maintain consistency during changing light, so that you can tell your story as perfectly as possible. Measuring 40.2 x 59.8," the Video Mega is the largest target within the ColorChecker Video range and is an ideal tool for the following photographic scenarios. The ColorChecker Video Mega provides an extra-large format for effortlessly capturing the target at greater distances and wider angles. The Video Mega is designed for shoots when the space between your camera and subject is too great to capture a smaller target. This target eliminates the need to move your camera closer or adjust the focal length of your lens, allow you to shoot in the same lighting condition that is falling on your subject and minimize color casting from any surrounding light.

Features four grayscale calibration bars and saturated and unsaturated RGB primaries and extended skin tone patches for additional color precision

Four larger steps for even gray balance, including white, 40IRE gray, deep gray, and high gloss black. These levels are ideal for determining proper exposure whether you use a waveform, zebras, or false colors. Use these levels to align the exposure and contrast of cameras you are matching and ensure that mid-tones are rendered accurately. These chips are positioned in the center of the test target for maximum exposure, even on a wide set

Two rows of six chromatic color chips, both saturated and desaturated, specifically designed to align with the color axis on a vectorscope. These colors provide two levels of color information to more quickly achieve an ideal color balance

Ranging from light to dark with subtle undertones to better reproduce accurate flesh tones. This row of chips is positioned on the outer edge of the target for easy alignment

Speed up your color grading workflow by achieving ideal exposure and color balance, whether shooting with one camera or multiples. The color chart includes a series of chromatic color chips, skin tone chips, gray chips, and illumination check chips. The layout is designed for ideal performance when used with vectorscopes and waveforms, whether on-camera or in software

Six color chips for achieving even gray balance. This row addresses highlight and shadow regions

Black and white chips at two corners to better assist in determining even illumination across the target

ColorChecker Video is supported by 3rd party software solutions for improved color grading and efficiencies such as DaVinci Resolve and 3DLUT Creator

An oversized target suitable for large stadiums or aerial work

I was able to use the ColorChecker Passport with their software (Lightroom plugin) in about an hour. It's great being able to automatically correct colors - this system makes the bright/intense colors of your photos really pop!

I took shots in studio lights, room lights, Bright sun, Shade and mottled sunlight. For the interior shots it worked very well in creating a custom camera calibration (Nikon D850) for use in Lightroom. First trial in outdoor lighting didn't do as well. A fellow seasoned photographer said the exposure must be spot-on in order to get the best results. I reshot, using an incident meter and set the camera accordingly. That worked very well.

I like everything about this checker, but not so the hinge. That is the only downside of it. But also I don't think it was designed to be used hundreds of times per day, so we will see how it holds up.
