The Gefen EXT-WHD-1080P-LR-EU-M Long-Range Wireless Extender System for HDMI sends high definition audio and video to any HDTV display up to 100 feet (30 meters). It extends HDCP -compliant HDMI AV content from computers, game consoles, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, and other AV sources to a remotely located display. HD resolutions up to 1080p Full HD, 7.1 channels of LPCM digital audio, and 5.1 channels of Dolby or DTS formats are supported. This wireless system is comprised of a Sender and a Receiver unit. Both units can be attached to a standard ¼"-20 camera tripod mount, wall mounted, or be placed on a shelf. The small and low-profile Receiver unit includes a wired IR Extender module, and can be hidden away behind the display or inside an equipment cabinet if needed. The Sender features two HDMI inputs and an HDMI output for connection to a local display.

The end-user can select between the two HDMI sources by using the included handheld IR remote or by pressing the Input button on the Sender or the Receiver unit. The included IR emitter array can be connected to the Sender unit and attached to the IR sensor windows of the two Hi-Def sources, allowing full control of the source unit from another room simply by pointing the IR remote of the source at the Receiver unit. This wireless extender system is ideal for high-definition AV extension in a conference room, classroom, auditorium, home theater, and multiform AV installations that feature multiple sources and two displays. Up to eight Sender units can be accessed by a Receiver, one at a time, using its handheld remote control. The Wireless for HDMI 5 GHz LR Extender system can transmit through walls and does not require line-of-sight placement of its transceivers.

Q: 1. Our church sends HDMI signal to 4 screens with an HDMI matrix splitter over CAT5/6 HDMI extender. Would this be able to take the signal from the CAT5/6 - HDMI receiver then convert it to the BlackMagic Production Studio 4k resolution and keep it synchronized wherever the input change in the matrix?Does it convert to PAL - 576i standard? (for the time we still need SD resolutions)

A: According to the PDF Manual, available PAL settings include: EDID 1 - PAL Resolutions - 720 x 576p 4:3 & 720 x 576p 16:9, both 50 Hz. EDID 2 - PAL Resolutions - 720 x 576p 4:3 - 59.94 / 60 Hz. Yes we have it. No we don't use it. Why: Short Term expenditure. Very rudimentary device. Interface looks like Windows 3.0 and Non Upgradeable Firmware! The Native Resolution of Device: 1920 x 1080i 16:9, 50 Hz & 59.94 / 60 Hz. We used with an HDMI Powered Switch. Never tried to use it with BMD ATEM 4K. Why? Awkward space requirements. HDMI Cables are face mounted, not edge connected. Cannot Rack Mount unless mounted on Face of Rack. For the Money... & Long Term Investment: Look seriously at Decimator MD-HX Up / Down / Cross Converter or DataVideo DAC-70 Converter. We have and use the Blackmagic Design ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K. The Two aforementioned Converters work well with BMD gear. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. What's the difference between this and the Ultralites? Looks like same headset body.

A: The Eartec UltraLite headset has all of the electronics built into the earcups to eliminate the need for a belt-worn transceiver. The Max4G is a midweight headset which does not have the electronics built in and requires a wired connection to a separate transceiver like the UltraPAK.

Q: 3. Hello , I have the ultra lite hd will it work with my set ?

A: The UltraPAK can be used with Eartec's variety of wired headsets and the HUB base station.

Q: 4. Could this be charged from the USB port of a camcorder (Sony AX700)?

A: No, the DVDO Air 2K 1080p/60 HDMI Wireless Extender Kit (30'+) cannot be powered from the USB port on the Sony FDR-AX700 4K Camcorder.

Q: 5. Will this scaler installed at a projector allow for smooth HDMI switching further up the stream? Does it send a constant native res to the display source? Currently running a 4x1 HDMI switcher into a projector but the HDCP handshake creates a very clunky switch between the sources.

A: This scaler will not provide a solution to a delayed switch unfortunately. This is just for scaling one resolution to another. It sounds like you will need a seamless switcher with no delay when switching between HDMI inputs.

Q: 6. does it accept 720p24, 720p30 and frame rate convert up to 720p60 or 1080p60?

A: Hi,I have not tested 720p24, 720p30 myself. But i am pretty sure that it will upscale any source you give to your desire format. Its the best i have experienced in the cases of upscale or downscale in professional video.I use this in a TV station to convert appleTV to blackmagic SDI conversation. Hope this helpsRegards.

Q: 7. Will it work in Canada ?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 8. Please describe the audio delay feature, what is the granularity of the adjustments ?I need to add about 50ms of audio delay from HDMI in to HDMI out.

A: I do not think it has an audio delay feature. It would be nice if it did!

Q: 9. This may be a newbie type of question - can I use one or more of these to extend my Apple router based home network to parts it does not currently reach and can I use these access points to connect wired cameras with PoE? I know I would need added power injectors for the last part.

A: Yes, these access points can be used for both of those functions.

Q: 10. What benefit does this expansion unit provide over the Canon EU-V2 Expansion Unit?

A: The Canon EU-V3 Expansion Unit has a slimmer profile, lacks the audio controls of the V2, the V3 has more function buttons, and it has two different power options, 4-Pin XLR Power/ 4-Pin Hirose (12V), unlike the V2 which only has the 4-Pin Hirose (12V).
