A: Yes. The Sony is 4.8 wide and the bracket is adjustable to accommodate that camera width and fit the Rode microphone with the deadcat wind muffler and still have some room for adjustment.

It will need to be connected the whole time, and the TC will be recorded as an audio squarewave onto the track. Once your recording is done, you will need to convert the audio TC to usable TC via a production app like Adobe Premier, Davinci Resolve, or Tentacle Sync Studio.
