Used for infrared photography, this Drop-In Nano-Coating IR720 Filter from Haida enables the portion of the light spectrum that's invisible to the naked eye, known as near-infrared light, to be captured. The filter blocks visible light up to 720nm and lets images of how a subject reflects or transmits infrared light to be captured.

This M10 drop-in format filter is made to fit the Haida M10 Filter System. A built-in light gasket seals this drop-in filter into the M10 Holder to prevent light leaks.

Q: 8. What are the differences between this new Haida M10-II and the original M10 Filter Systems? Are they completely forward and backward compatible?

A: The second generation of Haida's M10 100mm filter holder, the M10-II is upgraded with a nonslip design that allows for easier handling in most weather conditions. It also has a new locking design for quicker attachment to adapter rings. New filter guides snap into place rather than requiring screws to be used as in the predecessor version. Also, a new locking knob will keep the holder in place after it has been rotated, whereas the previous generation did not have a rotation lock. This works with the same holder adapters and filters as the previous generation.

Q: 9. Does the M10 filter holder work with the Canon 11-24 lens?

A: Unfortunately, the Haida M10 holder is not compatible with the Canon EF 11-24mm lens.

A: A leather case for the storage and transport of the entire Haida M10 Filter Holder Kit.

I just bought the New Canon 200-400 1.4X Zoom lens and during a recent shoot I noticed a lot of glare off the windows and hoods of the race cars I was shooting. (Not due to the lens) I purchased the Drop-In Circular Polarizer and it worked great! You simply remove the factory carrier with the clear filter installed and drop in the polarizer. There is a small wheel on the top which is easy to locate and rotate the filter reducing the amount of reflected glare. It's not cheap but works well.

Do sports photographers need this? If you photograph cars, or sport involving water, heck yes! makes a total difference. Landscape guys will tell you bluer skies and clear water, but the real benefit for sports photographers is you can expose the athletes better; the glare is cancelled out of the photo making it soooo much more pleasing... wish i got this sooner.
