Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens a true flat field macro suitable for use on a copy stand?

A: Yes, this lens is ideally suited for copy work. You can view the distortion characteristics on the data sheet located using the link below. a href= http://www.zeiss.com/content/dam/Photography/new/pdf/en/downloadcenter/datasheets_milvus/milvus250m.pdf target= _blank http://www.zeiss.com/content/dam/Photography/new/pdf/en/downloadcenter/datasheets_milvus/milvus250m.pdf/a

Q: 2. Can aperture be set from the camera body?

A: Yes you can change aperture from the camera body. You need to set aperture ring indicator at f22, then the lens is set as electronically configured aperture mode. I use D850 and Df with same manner.

Q: 3. How would this f2/M look in a medium shot during an interview in comparison to the f/1.4 ZE?

A: This is a difficult question to answer, since some of the differences are subjective. If judging contrast and sharpness, you can view the MTF charts in the technical data sheets located at a href= http://zeiss.com/photo. target= _blank zeiss.com/photo./a This will allow you to compare how the Milvus 2/50M appears at wide open aperture to the new Milvus 1.4/50. Aside from this, the main differences are in the DOF and out of focus qualities. In this case, neither is better than the other, it is a matter of your own tastes and needs.

Q: 4. I am a serious panoramic photographer, my question is how is this lens perform the sharpness at infinity? i have a nikkor 55mm f/2.8, i don't like it perform at infinity. Thank you!

A: The ZEISS Milvus 50mm f/2M ZF.2 Macro Lens for Nikon F has remarkable sharpness performance when focused at infinity.

Q: 5. Certainly the Macro range is great but how does it compare to standard lenses when you are doing landscapes or anything focused farther away?

A: The ZEISS Milvus 2/50M uses a floating lens element design that optimizes performance from close focus through infinity. As a result, the lens serves a dual purpose as either a close-up macro lens, or a general purpose standard lens. Q: 6. Is there a firmware update to make this compatible with the Nikon Df?

A: No, the ZEISS Milvus 50mm f/2M ZF.2 Macro Lens for Nikon F is already compatible with Nikon Df.

Q: 7. Can this Zeiss lens be used on a Canon mirrorless (RF) camera with an adaptor?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Iam planning to buy this Zeiss CZ2 70-200 my pl mount for shooting my feature film on my Red epic dragon and the black magic Ursa mini pro4.6 camera,I have already canon cn - e 145-60 mm t/ 2.6 pl lens,My doubt is how is the picture quality of this lens like boketh, breathing, sharpness, colour retention, chromatic abration, distortion exetra is it better than cp2/3 lens, iin par with ultra prime, fuginon cabrio zoom like 19-90 t/2.9 or 85-300 t/2.9-4 lenses,I know it is a full frame lens,so there Will be change in angle of view when used on super 35 sensor,-asok

A: The ZEISS Compact Zoom lenses are high-end cine zooms which are designed as companions for the UltraPrime and MasterPrime lenses. They offer similar color rendition and contrast, with the added benefit of having full-frame coverage. This means on super 35 sensors, you are imaging within the 'sweet spot' of the lens. Regarding the angle of view on different sensor sizes, please review the technical specs at: a href= http://www.zeiss.com/cine. target= _blank www.zeiss.com/cine./a

Q: 9. I have some sample photos I would like to upload on my review post, however, I can't find an option to upload a photo. Can anyone help me out with that?

A: In order to upload any sample photos take with the Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/2M ZE Macro lens for Canon EF, you may submit a product review here https://bhpho.to/3MGtgqO

Q: 10. why is the milvus 50mm f/2M more expensive than milvus 50mm f/1.4 ? was thinking about buying, but dont know which one to get.

A: I'm pretty sure all macro lenses tend to be more expensive than their normal counterparts in the same focal length. This likely has to do with the focus helicoid it self being more complex since it needs to stay consistent throughout a considerably longer range. I chose it over the 50mm 1.4 because I needed the close focus ability for food shots and really like the recessed and smaller front element for backlit shots as well. So far this lens is a rock star, the build quality of this new line is peerless.
