The dark blue 8x42 H2O Roof Prism Binoculars are ideal for mid- to long-range glassing—from birdwatching to hiking & camping to enjoying sporting events, especially on or around the water. Bushnell built them using ecologically friendly glass that is manufactured without lead to be better for the environment.

They are outfitted with compact BAK4 roof prisms and anti-reflection multicoatings that work together to maximize light transmission to deliver bright, sharp, and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition and crisp resolution, even in challenging conditions. To withstand harsh conditions, the chassis is nitrogen-filled to resist internal fogging and O-ring sealed to an IPX7 waterproof rating—so these binos will handle a tumble into a pond or puddle better than you.

  • Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while preserving a wide exit pupil and long eye relief
  • 42mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability versus compact models for improved low-light performance without the bulk of larger objectives
  • Compact roof prism light path keeps the optical tubes thin for easy handling
  • BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil, and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection fully multicoated optics maximize light transmission while improving color rendition, contrast, and clarity
  • Apparent angle of view approaches wide angle to help minimize the appearance of the distracting hand-shake that is common when holding high-power optics, and presents an immersive observational experience
  • 350-foot field of view at 1000 yards

  • Closed-bridge configuration offers a stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Textured and slip-resistant center focusing knob is easy to use even in cold and wet conditions or while wearing gloves
  • Right-eye dioptric correction dial helps to compensate for individual optical prescription
  • Twist-up eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Standard 1/4"-20 socket on the front of the bridge hinge allows the use of an optional adapter to mount the binocular onto a tripod, head, or quick release plate
  • Long 17mm eye relief improves viewing comfort with reduced eye strain
  • Wide 5.25mm exit pupil will cover pupils as they open and dilate in low light and ensures the entire scene remains in view without vignetting

  • Ecologically friendly glass is responsibly sourced and made without using lead or arsenic
  • Lightweight and durable aluminum alloy chassis
  • Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof to a rating of IPX7 and resistant to internal fogging
  • Chassis armor protects against impacts
  • Aggressive texture on the armor with thumb indentations and raised palm pads for a comfortable and slip-resistant grip

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this pair of binoculars have a case?

A: It does come with a nylon case.

Q: 2. What are the internal dimensions of the case?

A: The Opticron Ballistic Nylon Case for 50mm Roof Prism Binoculars is about 6.5x6x3 inches inside.

Q: 3. Description says tripod mountable with adapter. Is this thru?

A: Yes it is tripod mountable but you would need an adapter such as this: https://bhpho.to/2luGUXL

Q: 4. What is the minimum focusing distance?

A: Minimum Focus Distance: 10 ft.

Q: 5. I just got a Zeiss TL Pocket. Would this pouch be a good fit?

A: The binoculars are 4.5 x 4.4" , and the OP/TECH USA Soft Pouch - Bino, Roof Prism Small (Black), is Exterior Dimensions Length: 5.0-6.0" (12.7-15.27cm) Width: 4.5-5.0" (11.4-12.7cm),,...so the binoculars will fit in.

Q: 6. My binoculars are 4"x4". Will they fit into this pouch?

A: The Soft Pouch Bino Roof Small fits L 5"–6" (12,7cm–15,2cm) x W 4"–5" (10,2cm–12,7cm) so this should fit. Another option is the Bino Wrap Roof Small: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/485745-REG/OP_TECH_USA_6001112_Binocular_Wrap_Small_Black.html

Q: 7. What size would fit Swarovski 8x32 binoculars?

A: I bought the medium Soft Pouch (camo) for my Swarovski 8x32 EL and it fits them adequately but snugly. I would recommend this for protection where you dont want a case to take up a lot of space. I travel a lot and throw these in a day pack or carry-on where I dont want to bring my larger Swarivskis. The mediums are too small for the standard sized bins like the 8.5x42 EL and the 10x42 EL.

Q: 8. Difference between Bushnell 8x 42 WP Legacy and Bushnell 8x42 H20 Porro binocular?

A: The Legacy's are just slightly better quality. The coatings are better on the model, also the construction is more durable. I personally would recommend the Legacy's, also because they are better in low light settings. The Legacy's have a 8.2 Angle of View verses these H20 Porro's only have a 7.8 degree Angle of View. Overall the Legacy is a better binocular. It's a higher series.

Q: 9. Iwould like this Binocular for my 7 year kids, the size is ok for the kids?

A: This is a perfect size for a 7 year old.

Q: 10. can one of the eyepieces be focused separately for eyesight compensation?

A: I have both the 8x25 & the 10x25 and they both have the individual eyepiece focus adjustment.
