The 10-stop, 95mm Ice CO Nano Multicoated ND Filter is a neutral density filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. The nano-resistance coating offers improved beading effect when in contact with water, for effective use in harsh environments, and allows for more efficient cleaning. This neutral density filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. It features an aluminum alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is the 67mm version front threaded? what's the size? want to fit my lens cap

A: It is front threaded. The front thread is 72 mm. The front thread is written under the Specs tab in the section that says Front Accessory Thread.

Q: 2. Is this filter in 2 pieces with a threaded magnetic adapter and a separate filter, or is it a single filter?

A: The Kase 77mm Skyeye Magnetic Multicoated UV Filter is a single piece. The filter screws onto any 77mm front filter thread and allows up to four additional magnetic filters to be stacked on front. This protective filter can remain attached to a lens as a constant layer of protection, but that still allows additional magnetic filters to be attached and removed much more quickly than traditional threaded filters.

Q: 3. I have a Batis 25mm. will this filter fit the lens, and also, will the original lens cap fit on top of this filter?

A: Yes, this will fit the 67mm filter threads of the ZEISS Batis 25mm f/2 Lens for Sony E. However, since this filter is made wider so as to avoid vignetting, you will need a 72mm lens cap. Here is a quality one to match your lens. B+W 72mm Pro Snap-On Lens Cap MFR #65-1065134 • BH #BWLC72

Q: 4. Does this filter work with an M.Zuiko Olympus F2.8 Pro 12-40mm?And would a step down ring 52-62mm cause vignetting?

A: It will work with that lens. If your using a 52-62mm step up ring from a smaller lens you will be ok. If your using a step down to put a 52mm filter on a 62mm lens then you will most likely have vignetting.

Q: 5. does this 95mm filter still allows for the Sony 200-600 mm lens factory hood to be mounted with the filter on?

A: You coudl use the included lens hood on the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens with the B+W 95mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter.

Q: 6. with an ultra-wide angle lens (i.e. Canon 16-35mm F4L with a full frame camera), do you get the dreaded X show up and if so at what density does it show up?

A: The X you can sometimes pick up in the image with a variable ND filter is caused most of the time by variable ND filters that go over 7-8 stops and lower quality ones. The B+W filter is fine. The one thing you might pick up is when set to the widest setting on that lens, 16mm you might pick up some vignette. And that is going to happen with that lens with most filters because of how wide it can go. The filter is designed with a thinner frame so it should be somewhat minimal.

Q: 7. The specs for the B+W 95mm Xs-Pro ND Vario filter show that the front filter size is also 95mm. However, for all other sizes the front filter size is larger than the back side that screws on to the lens. Can someone please confirm that the front threads for the 95mm model are also 95mm as in the specs or wider like the picture suggests? Thanks.

A: definitely not!! the rear thread of the filter is 95mm, however the front thread of the filter is 105mm

Q: 8. Will this fit Zeiss Batis 67mm lens with the hood ON?

A: I would say most likely no as I cannot use a hood with any of my lenses when using this filter.

Q: 9. anybody using this filter? Have you had any problems?

A: I've had it for a few months. Bought it because the Bower 95mm was just awful.... you get what you pay for! Personally, I've noticed no X pattern on this filter at all -- even at its highest level of filtering. I've not noticed too much of a color shift either....

Q: 10. Has anyone tried the Variable 82mm on a sony 16-35GM2.8? I want to know if you saw any vignetting or any issues with it. I know the 24-70gm also has the same filter thread so I was wondering just how wide you can go with the filter beefore vignetting.

A: Today's Polarizers from quality manufacturers are all made to be thin to avoid vignetting on wide lenses. This one from B+W has the coveted Thin Brass Filter Ring. You will be good.
