The Magco 77mm Circular Polarizer Filter from ICE reduces glare from highly reflective surfaces, like polished metal, glass, and water surfaces. It also increases the saturation of the sky for greater color separation when shooting landscapes. The filter's 16-layer multicoating increases light transmission for increased tonal separation, while preventing internal lens flare. The hardened, easy clean topcoat resistance coating repels water, oil, dust, and fingerprints and provides a toughened scratch-resistant surface well suited for use in harsh environments.

The included 77mm magnetic adapter ring is an aluminum ring that screws on to the filter threads of a lens, allowing the filter to be quickly attached or removed. The polarizer rotates freely on the ring for proper positioning, and up to four magnetic filters can be stacked at a time. The ultra-slim design is compatible with extreme wide-angle lenses, and the adapter ring features front threading that allows the original lens cap to be used for protection without removing the ring.

ICE Magco magnetic filters are fully compatible and interchangeable with Kase, Haida, and Marumi magnetic filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this filter for nikon lens?

A: The filter is for a lens with a 95mm opening....I purchased it for my Zeiss lens

Q: 2. will this replace the CPL in the 77mm kase magnetic filter set that I lost?

A: Yes, they are one in the same.

Q: 3. Are there any pros and cons between this Zeiss CP and a B+W Kaesemann CP?

A: I second the last reviewer. I have purchased and used both. Despite having a brass ring, the B+W has stuck to my lens thread. I even have a 72mm C-Pol filter by B+W with out of round adjustment ring. The worst part is that the polarizing film even has specks of dust trapped on the underside and mildly lifted at a small part of the edge (which I wasnt expecting for a Kaesmann). And there is even a part where the polarizing film was not even timed to meet the metal ring, leaving a micro gap prone to light leakage. Very disappointing for a B+W filter, given the price point. Otherwise, the optical quality was great. I have had mostly good luck with B+W filters except for this 72mm C-Pol and another 6-point star filter. Probably a QC issues at Schneider. The Zeiss is something else. The quality and craftsmanship are in a different league. The first thing you will notice when you open the package is the quality of the packaging. The filter comes out dust-free, a strong indication of a high-end facility from where it is produced. Dont be fooled by the aluminum ring. It easily tops all B+W filters I have ever used in terms of ease of attachment and removal. The machining of the threading is so precise it prevents any sticking at all. I have had zero issues in this regard. Optically, it is definitely no worse than B+W. but I dont know if it is better. QC is top notch just like any Zeiss products. Dont be discouraged by the fact that the Zeiss filter is made in Japan. Japanese are equally proud of their craftsmanship as their German counterparts. The extra cost is definitely worth the quality. All my future filters will be Zeiss.

Q: 4. How do you adjust the Polarizer when is attached to the magnetic strip?

A: The rotating ring is separate from the magnetized ring that holds it in place.

Q: 5. Will the Wolverine Circular Polarizer work on a Kase Skyeye magnetic adapter?

A: No, Kase Skyeye Magnetic Adapter (82mm) are not compatible with kase wolverine magnetic filters series. The Kase Wolverine Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter already comes with its magnetic ring. If you need a step up ring you will need Kase Magnetic Step-Up Ring for Wolverine Magnetic Filters.

Q: 6. I'm thinking in buying this CPL for my Zeiss Batis 2/25 - Is it hard to clean or take care? i do street photography in New York City - would a CPL be useful for the type of photos i capture? -Thanks!

A: The ZEISS filters are the best and with any filter requires care like your camera equipment so always use a microfiber cloth with bottled water prior to you shoot. You can always remove dust during processing in PS. Use this filter for shooting water and glass to remove reflections and it will bring out all colors but you can get the deep colors in processing. ZEISS optics are the best. When you use this filter you need to adjust it to the darkest point or your colors will not come out.

Q: 7. Is it OK to install on a lens already has the T* coating? What's going to happen if you double the T* coating?

A: Yes, it's fine. It would only be problematic if the T* coating itself had a distinct color cast, in which case the white balance would need adjusting. However, the coating itself improves light transmission pretty evenly across the spectrum, so you'll only notice the normal color cast of the polarizing layers -- which is pretty neutral on the Zeiss. I think only the Breakthrough Photography polarizers are (or may!) be more neutral.

Q: 8. How does the shock resistance on the Kase Wolverine filter and adapter model make it any better than Kase Skyeye model?

A: Both Kase Skyeye and Kase Wolverine filters are scratch resistant and offer a similar level of protection against scratches. If you are looking for shock resistance I recommend this Hoya HD3 filter. It is hardened and you can hit it with a wrench to an extent and it won't break. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1177599-REG/hoya_xhd3_82uv_82mm_hd3_uv_filter.html

Q: 9. will these accept any magnetic lens caps (sensei/Haida/etc) or are they specific to Case?

A: The Kase Skyeye Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring (82mm) is only compatible with the Kase 82mm Skyeye Magnetic Lens Cap.

Q: 10. What is the difference between the Kase Wolverine v.s. Skyeye setup? they seem to be exactly the same but with a huge price difference.

A: The Skyeye filters are a budget line of Kase filters that mirrors their more expensive Wolverine line of filters.
