This is the genuine ELPLP89 Replacement Projector Lamp that comes with your Epson 5040UB Projector (and maybe others in the Epson line - I'm not sure). B&H's price is the lowest around, even better than Epson itself on this item. Mine went right to work and replaced a bulb that Epson is going to replace for free, but I decided that having a back-up would be the clever thing to do so I don't have to wait a day or two or more for that replacement. This one works as well as the original (actually better since the original was obviously a lemon straight from the factory). B&H gave me two day shipping free and I had it on the second day after ordering. The one from Epson is coming ground and I might see it by Dec 23 if I'm lucky (I could have paid for quicker shipping of course). Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and with B&H's amazing holiday shipping!!! 5

I just purchased a new 4K Epson projector for my home and as I have done for my previous home projectors, I always buy a spare bulb right away. I probably won't need if for at least three years, but just in case, I'll have it hand if it goes early. The price from B&H was the best out there and it clearly was an original Epson product. Here's hoping that I DON'T need it from some time to come. 5

When my orginal bulb went out I first tried an off brand replacement from an online projector store. This bulb causes issues when starting up the projector. Sometimes it would start and sometimes it would not start the first time and the projector would blink the amber light. On the second try it would usually come on. After only 1200 hours the non OEM bulb blew. So I ordered the OEM Epson bulb here. The projector once again works and turns on as if it were new again. The brand of bulb certainly makes a difference. Don't go cheap. 5
