Q: 4. Will the Shure vp 83 work with a LUMIX g9? I see the mike comes with a TRS cable to input to the camera and the G9 has a TRRS audio input.

A: Yes, the Shure VP83 is compatible for use with the Lumix G9. The mic input on the camera is a standard 3.5mm TRS connection. It is TRS and not TRRS, which is the common connector for most mobile devices. So the VP83 will connect directly to the mic input on the camera with no adapters needed.

Q: 8. I shoot live rock and blues in a small club. What I'm looking for is a mic that will produce accurate sound without a lot of audience noise. I have a Canon D5 M2. Is this for me? or should I look at others?

A: It's a nice mic but possibly not the best option for your purpose. First, it's a mono mic. It is directional so you will cut out some surrounding noise but if the club forces you to be quite close you you may overemphasize one performer or instrument and if you are further back you may have audience in front of you defeating your purpose. Also, it won't help with audience noise reflecting back from the stage area.Be aware that you will need to turn off IS or risk picking up noise from the IS motors despite the shock mounting. It is very noticeable and distracting if the IS is on on the 24-105 on my 5D3.I now use a Zoom H6 and sync in post. It has flexibility to position it away from the camera but can be hot-shoe mounted and fed straight to the camera as needed. It is stereo with the option to bring in up to four more tracks from a mix-board, etc.

Q: 9. I have a Canon D5 M2. I shoot a lot of loud live rock and blues in a small club. I need a mic that will give me accurate sound. Is this the one I'm looking for?

A: Yes, it is. Just manually set your camera's audio to a low setting, and set the mic to a -10 db, and sound check accordingly. The mic records nice, crisp, clean sound, great mic for the price.

Q: 10. Is there an auto gain option?

A: This microphone offers manual gain controls from its MENU only.

I'm new to adding higher quality audio to my videos and it's remarkable the difference the LensHopper makes, especially outside with this Windjammer on it! Amazing!

My mic was picking up a fair amount of wind noise, so I ordered this, being fairly skeptical. THIS THING WORKS WONDERS! Great to cut down wind noise. I do believe audio towards the back of the mic gets a bit quieter because of the screen, but to me that's not a big deal.

I bought the microphone with this accessory and it cuts the wind noise down to practically nothing! Great product!

At first I didn't think I'd get this on the mic but. it slides on very easily. Works well for keeping the wind noise down (I just that's why they call it the Wind Jammer)

Cuts down on wind noise immensely! The only downside I feel the audio towards the back of the mic gets a bit more quiet. But I suppose that is the price you pay to cut down on wind #sweepstakes
