Q: 3. How is Canson Infinity Photographique II different from its predecessor Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique?

Q: 4. After printing on this paper, do you use any kind of finisher or sealant to protect the print? If it matters, I'll be using an Epson surecolor printer and manufacturer pigments.

A: It is not necessary to use any finisher or sealant to ensure longevity of a print printed on the Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II paper. If you plan on having this displayed uncovered for a long period of time, you may want to use something. But for most standard usage this is not necessary.

Q: 5. Does the grain run long or short?

A: I highly doubt it would make any difference. This is an extremely high resolution fine grain semi gloss paper and is about the best there is.Canson don't state any specification on their website but do include images of all their surface finishes and they all look pretty random to me.Sheet media is always loaded in portrait with the long side facing adjacent to the motion of the print head.

Q: 6. does this paper have optical whiteners/brighteners?

A: Hello,No. This paper is free of optical brightening agents. It is designed for artists and photographers using inkjet technology. It is a very very great paper, top quality. Q: 9. I was wondering if this paper is short grain or long grain.

A: The Canson Infinity Rag Photographique Duo Paper is short grain.

Q: 10. Back before Christmas I purchased two boxes of Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag paper (8.5x11 and 13x19) from B&H. I now have a new Canon imageProGraf 300 printer. I've downloaded the ICC profile for this paper, but Canson does not indicate the "Media Type" setting that I should use in PS or LR. Could anyone advise me what media setting I should use?

A: You can probably use Luster or Exhibition Fiber which is also in the semi gloss family. Please note: being that the TM300 is only a 4 color printer not really for photos or fine art, you can't expect to get the exact color on prints anyway. You'll need a printer like the Pro 4100.

Based on the recommendation of one of the best photographers out there, I have pretty much made this the only paper that I print with. The results are excellent and I find that using one paper almost exclusively eliminates the ink spatter around the edges of the paper that I get when I switch papers and ICC profiles.

I have printed both color and BL-WH images for years; initially on Epson Luster paper and recently, on various Epson and Canson papers. For the past few years I have used Canson Patine paper. The Patine paper is very good but recently have switched to Canson Baryta II and find it some what better for both low value blacks(shadows) and very high whites. Over all, whites do not block up and very low blacks are more intense.

Canson Infinity Baryta is my choice for highest quality archival / exhibition pigment prints on luster surface paper. It has wonderful definition and color fidelity. It is slightly warmer than bone-white paper giving excellent vibrant color pallet.
