Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this paper be damaged by airport security check X-ray scan machines or it's package protects the paper from this problem ?

A: Theoretically, it is possible that high strength X-ray machines can fog film or paper, which is typically the case with checked bagged rather than hand-carry/carry-on which typically use a weaker form of x-ray radiation.

Q: 2. Does this work on the Epson Super Color P800?

A: Yes, I have gotten good results.

Q: 3. I have old and recent b&w slides; anyone have experience printing with an enlarger on this paper? Pre-flash? General exposure length? Preferred developer? Thanks in advance!

A: As always, our wonderful customers are a great resource. Please look to the product reviews for the answers to your questions. Used with care, this paper produces great results.

Q: 4. I am unfamiliar with the term emulsion IN (under Surface Finish). Can someone describe what that means, please?

A: Emulsion IN would refer to 24 x 66' and 50 x 50' rolls of this paper, which has the emulsion side of the paper rolled inward. Both rolled and sheet options come in a glossy finish.

Q: 5. Does this Metallic Photo Paper Glossy work with the Epson 3800?

A: Unfortunately, Epson does not list this paper as compatible with the 3800. As an alternative, please see the following paper from Moab: http://bhpho.to/12jLzwc

Q: 6. Can you leave this paper after exposing in the fridge for a period of time before developing? Not near a darkroom

A: You can hold off processing the HARMAN technology Direct Positive Fiber Based (FB) Paper (Glossy, 4 x 5", 25 Sheets). But do not do that for long times. It is best to process right away but you can wait a few days or so.

Q: 7. Can this paper be used with a Canon Pro-100?

A: I use an Epson 4900 and it works great. Don't know about the Canon but paper is paper and Ink Jet is Ink Jet so it most likely will work. One word of warning. Even though it says Metallic paper...It isn't a metal type of metallic like other metallic photo papers. This just has a metallic sheen/gloss they call metallic. I love the results and use this paper more often than I use real metallic surface papers.

Q: 8. Is this available in luster?

A: Unfortunately, this paper is currently available only in glossy and emulsion-in.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with an Epson Pro 4800?

A: Sorry, cant say. I have a p800. No problems.

Q: 10. Can this be developed using cafenol?

A: While cafenol is not listed, this paper has been developed in most any developer known. This is a very experimental paper so try it and see.

I have used Multigrade IV fb glossy for years and was very happy with it. The new fb classic is an improvement. The prints feel a little warmer out of the box then the previous version and it does seem to be sharper. Have not tried toning images yet but I'm really happy with the results without and toning. Thanks to Ilford for making a beautiful and affordable fb paper.

This paper is just what I need for my class, and this store offers the best price. Photo paper in general is expensive but this is all around a great deal. Shipping was fairly fast too.

I like that it's thicker than RC paper and is archival grade. Renders images a little sharper as well. Good paper.
