This Variable ND Filter from Okko helps streamline your camera bag contents by doing the job of multiple ND filters. This 77mm filter adds between one and nine stops of density, allowing you to shoot in bright light without overexposing images and to use slower shutter speeds to create dramatic effects that add blur and emphasize movement. Finer control over depth-of-field can be achieved by being able to use wider apertures in bright lighting conditions, great for when shooting landscapes and nature. Compatible with both still and video applications, it is a great solution for videographers looking for an even light adjustment while filming.

This durable filter is made of two 2mm-thick pieces of optical glass assembled in a rugged aluminum frame. Its waterproof design means it can be used with confidence when on location, even in harsh environments.

Q: 1. Where can I buy the mist edition of this?

A: The Polar Pro 2-5 stop Pro-Mist Variable ND (PMVND) filter is available here: https://bhpho.to/3L0gnHE

Q: 2. What is the outside diameter? I need it to fit inside of a SmallRig mini matte box. My 82mm tiffin is too wide at 98mm. I believe it has to be less than 95mm to be compatible.

A: We measured this at the store and it measured 89.5mm on across the front element.

Q: 3. How thick is this filter?

A: There are no specs for the thickness of this filter, but it will not vignette down to a 16mm focal length.

Q: 4. Is there any vignetting at the lowest or highest setting of the VND? I see the Tiffen does a bit from some of those reviews. This is my largest concern. Thanks.

A: We haven't had any reports of vignetting with this filter at the lowest or highest setting.

Q: 5. I run the Sony e-mount for both photo and video. Is this the best filter solution for me or is there a better option out there? Also, how much filter would I need outside in bright sun to shoot at f1.4?

A: No, the following workflow ND 4x6 or 100mm ND filters would make a more suitable workflow. Here are the 4x6 filters that we have to offer https://bhpho.to/3I4VM76 Be mindful of the following wide angle lens look into soft transitions filters mid-range lens look into hard transitions filters

Q: 6. Does this filter color match the Polar Pro Basecamp Matte Box ND filter?

A: These will both be different in terms of the intensity of ND they include, however colorcast and filter color matching should be the same out of both.

Q: 7. The filter thread is 67mm on the glass side, but what is the width across the front side, it should be slightly larger than 67mm?

A: According to the manufacturer, the diameter of the filter would be 73.6mm.

Q: 8. Does this filter show IR pollution color shift on BMPCC4K?

A: We have not been able to test this filter. But it is a high quality filter that should not shift in color.

Q: 9. Is this the Mist Edition or the Signature Edition?

A: This filter is from the PolarPro Signature Edition II line. :)

Q: 10. Do the marks correspond to fixed stop values to allow calculating exposure settings?

A: The "Marks" correspond to approx 1/2 stops.
