Matthews complements your creativity by enabling smooth camera movement with this 45" Slider. Both grip and operator friendly, this lightweight and sturdy camera platform features a modular design for offset camera rigging and maximized compatibility. It is fully field adjustable with Allen keys and a 7/16" open wrench.

It can work upside-down for low-angle shots, can support more than one carriage at a time for A and B camera shots, and has positive lock at 90° when in use on most dollies (Chapman, Fisher, Panther, etc.). Each carriage can support up to 175 pounds, and the system uses oversized proprietary roller wheels for fast and quiet movement. Fully factory assembled, the system will accept any gear head / fluid head / camera combination and come complete with the necessary mounting accessories and hardware.

The slider is completely modular, allowing offset mounting of the rotating Mitchell base to extend the reach of the system. This feature may be used for tabletop, car interior, and many other situations. It not only gives you smooth camera movement, but it also adds stability in otherwise challenging locked-off positions. The slider gives you many options for solid and quiet camera movement and comes with numerous 3/8"-16 tapped holes for rigging and securing. It is conveniently sized to fit in some rifle-sized hard cases.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the diameter of the two riser tubes?

A: The top mount of the Matthews, The Slider Stand is 1 1/8 inch. The outer diameter is not listed but is just a little larger than 1 1/8 but not much.

Q: 2. On a scale of 1 to 5, how sturdy do you think this stand will be when extended to nearly its full height and topped with a 36" x 16" surface weighing about 15 lbs?

A: 6 built like a rock.

Q: 3. Is this stand compatible with Matthews 249563 casters?

A: The Matthews slider stand legs are the same size as impact slider stand so the wheels should fit.

Q: 4. Is this one or two stands?

A: This is 1 stand.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions when collapsed?

A: Collapsed length is 20".

Q: 6. what is the length of this item when folded?

A: 25.12

Q: 7. Is it compatible with the Matthews Mini Slider Stands?

A: Apparently it actually is compatible with the mini versions as they have the same feet. If anyone else wants to chime in to fully confirm that would be great.

Q: 8. Is the footprint diameter really 37"? I know that some advertised diameters are not accurate. It would be great to find a stand with all of the same specifications as this one but with a 27" - 30" footprint.

A: That is correct and the foot print for the Matthews The Slider Stand (3.8') is around 37 inches. Slider stands need to be that wide or wider so it does not tip.

Q: 9. How tight does the baby pin receiver hold? I am trying to avoid any wobble on my slider.

A: The Impact SLI-STAND Slider Stand (45") uses heavy-duty steel tubes and steel legs to securely support slider systems, cameras, and light fixtures weighing up to 88 lb. It has an adjustable height of up to 45" and two leveling legs to assure sturdy and level support for smooth tracking with a camera that's always parallel with the horizon.

Q: 10. Are these sold separately or do they come as a pair?

A: They are sold separately. I know they are spendy but definitely worth the price. So solid.

At 14 lbs a piece, they're not for everyone - but with that weight comes the stability that's prompted you to read this review.

Built like a tank, they will finally remove that wobble you're getting with c-stands and setup far faster than tripods. I've just wrapped my first professional slider-heavy gig and have ordered two more.

I'm using them with Benro LBA2 bases and Kupo Baby Ball Head adapters with great success for 12' Syrp Magic Carpet Pro slides.

A single stand works great with my Edelkrone Slider Pro XL, Slide Module and Head Plus. It's made that package a joy to bring out again.

These stands are heavy beasts but well built and the adjustable legs come in very handy for remote shoots.

Excellent quality. Very stable when used with our Kessler Shuttle Dolly. The stand also folds up into a very compact size. We also bough the wheels, which while insanely expensive, make it much easier to move the dolly around, and don't seem make it any less stable.

This is a super-solid, super compact stand. Heavy-duty. As my camera(s) have become larger and heavier, I needed to move on to something like this for my rails. I like the outrigger leg for uneven surfaces. I do wish it extended a little higher so I could use it for other lighting applications. But that's a tiny complaint.

Yet another terrific product by Matthews. I had looked at other slider stands and glad I chose Matthews - these are built like tanks, have the level legs and hold the 4' and 8' poles with zero movement.

Very well built. Used on many music video productions, narrative films, and a TV show. Versatile. Beefy. Nice weight to it. Folds up compact enough to not take up too much space in the trailer. Very happy with the purchase.

I don't own a slider, although I may purchase a Dana Dolly or similar in the future. I purchased this stand because it's versatile, stable, and compact when collapsed. I also purchased a 1 1/8 to 5/8 adapter and a 1 1/8 to 3/8 adapter. The stand has a wide footprint and can take caster wheels. For me, the height range (24 to 46) has many uses. I'll use it to support lights, light modifiers, a computer, and in some cases as a camera support. Very happy with the build quality.

Bought these to work with my Rigwheels slider. They are fantastic. If your using a Rigwheels or Dana dolly don't cut cost. We bought short c-stands and used pelicans for a long time and it just didn't work for interviews etc. We bought the HPRC5400WE Waterproof Hard Case to carry then and a few light stands and it works perfectly. Worth every penny. They are built extremely well and can be used for lights and other stuff. Well worth the purchase.
