A: Correct, there is no noise gate or expander in the Studio Channel. Compressors don't increase level (or noise), they only decrease or limit dynamic range. If you don't have your input gain set correctly, that will decrease your signal-to-noise ratio. If you apply compression to a noisy signal, that noise will seem louder because you've brought the input signal peak and noise floor closer together by compressing the dynamic range of that original signal. A: The Studio Converter end will be a 4 wire interface. It will likely require a 2 wire to 4 wire interface. Balanced analog audio in and out. We don’t want to guess the pin out until it is released. The manual will have this information when it is released.

A: As per Blackmagic Design: Cat6A or higher would need to be connected to camera. The Talkback RJ-45 outputs balanced analog audio to the camera headset system. It will connect to a 4-wire interface on the intercom.
