Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the lightning cable needed to use with an iOS device? Lightning to micro-USB?

A: The Shure AMV-LTG Lightning Cable (B&H # SHAMVLTG) is the compatible Lightning to micro-USB cable for use with the Shure MOTIV MVI Single-Channel USB Audio Interface to connect an iOS device.

Q: 2. this unit shows US and Mexico. Does it mean that it does not operate in other countries ?

A: The Shure MXCWAPT-A Access Point Receiver (US), B&H # SHMXCWAPTA, is designed to operate in the USA. The RF frequency/bands may not be legal elsewhere.

Q: 3. Can I create my own preset and store it in this interface and use it without running the app on my iOS or macOS?

A: There are 5 Presets which are built in to the Motiv MVi, no need for the App. Five built-in DSP preset modes (Speech, Singing, Flat, Acoustic Instrument, and Loud) While in a PreSet, it is possible to tweak it to your liking, HOWEVER, when you exit the Preset, that PreSet reverts back to the "Factory" preset parameters You may also "tweak" settings on the Compression or EQ as needed. On your phone, the App may be used to store your own PreSets (100+) and name them and also control the Motiv MVi. In this scenario, you would need to run the App to recall your PreSets...

Q: 4. Can I connect the balanced aux out of the T4S to a device with an unbalanced input? What cable should I use - TRS or TS?

A: The aux output of the Bose T4S ToneMatch 4-Channel Audio Mixer and USB Interface accepts 1/4" TRS or TS cables. If you are connecting to an unbalanced TS input, you can use a1/4" TS cable.

Q: 5. Can the Dante port be connected directly to the ethernet port of a PC, giving the PC access to the I/O?

A: No. The Dante port would be connected to a network switch that is also connected to the rest of your Dante devices and the USB port of the Shure ANIUSB-MATRIX would be connected to your computer.

Q: 6. Is the 1/4" input stereo or mono, and can it take a line feed from a mixer (as opposed to mic feed)?

A: I feed the mic input on this unit from the aux send line output (pre-fader) on my Mackie mixer with no issues. Just make sure you turn the aux master control way down to avoid signal clipping.

Q: 7. Will the Shure MOTIV MVi interface retain the last panel settings (volume / mode / mute) when it is disconnect & reconnected? What happens when you unplug it from one computer & plug the USB into another?

A: There is no internal battery, therefore settings would not be saved once power is disconnected.

Q: 8. Does this work with the desktop ShurePlus MOTIV app similar to the MV7 mic?

A: Yes, the MOTIV MVI does work with the ShurePlus MOTIV mobile recording app.

Q: 9. Can this be used with an iOS device via USB, as long as you have the camera connection kit?

A: Theoretically, you should be able to adapt the USB to a lightning connection and use this mixer with an iOS devise, but there is no documentation confirming this from ART. This product is meant to be used with a computer.

Q: 10. Can I use this device to: 1) send analog out to ATEM Mic In. 2)USB to comp-1 streaming soft. 3) Dante to comp-2 running zoom?

A: Yes, the analog output from the Shure ANIUSB-MATRIX USB Audio Network Interface can be connected to the mic input on the Blackmagic Design ATEM Switcher (set the input level on the ATEM for line level audio signal). The USB port from the ANIUSB-MATRIX can be connected to a computer for streaming audio, and the Dante port on the ANIUSB-MATRIX can be connected to a network switch to receive Dante audio, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and data from the control software, then the second computer can be connected to the network switch to send and receive audio for the Zoom meeting.
