Waves eMotion LV1 64 Stereo Channels is a digital software mixer with 64 stereo/mono input channels designed for front-of-house, foldback, and broadcast live sound mixing applications. It employs the SoundGrid infrastructure for audio networking and a 32-bit floating point mix engine to deliver pristine audio at sample rates up to 96 kHz and with latency as low as 0.8 ms, along with an intuitive, flexible, and fast workflow, ideal for demanding live environments.

eMotion LV1 gives you precise control over your live sound mixing with sixteen aux channels (stereo/mono), 8 audio groups, L/R/C/Mono panning, and 8 matrixes (stereo/mono). You can run up to eight SoundGrid-compatible plug-ins directly on each channel (Waves or third-party plug-ins). All saved plug-in presets and chains can be shared with the Waves MultiRack and StudioRack plug-in hosts, enabling you to move seamlessly between live and studio environments.

The main mixer window gives you the most important info you need at a glance including all channel inputs and parameters, routing, plug-in inserts, and more. Additional windows provide more detailed views. You can use the channel window for focused control of your plug-ins, including a Touch-and-Slide slider for quick and easy control of all plug-in parameters.

The software can be configured as a portable or stationary setup and can connect to any SoundGrid-compatible I/O or server, allowing you to work on your sessions online or offline, at home, in your hotel room, on the tour bus, or at the live venue.

eMotion LV1 provides support for up to four multitouch screens, as well as diverse industry-standard control surfaces. It ships with the eMo D5 Dynamics, eMo F2 Filter, eMo Generator, and eMo Q4 Equalizer plug-ins, optimized for live environments.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the dynamic range of the digital converters? Tascam seems very reluctant to provide that data. Over the years I have emailed and asked customer service about various products and they always say I don't know... . Very odd.

A: Unfortunately these specs are not published and are not available from the manufacturer.

Q: 2. Would this work with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 as my USB connection? I teach online and want to mix in background music from an ipad into my Zoom calls.

A: Yes, the Mackie Mix5 - 5-Channel Compact Mixer could be used to receive background music from an iPad and then send its signal out to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2x2 USB Audio Interface, which may allow for more level control over the music. In theory you could also connect the iPad's audio output directly to the Scarlett with the proper cable.

Q: 3. what country is Sure made in?

A: According to the information we have, the Shure SCM-810 Country of Origin is U.S.A. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice. Also please note that different product lines are manufactured in different countries.

Q: 4. How much latency does the Adat to Dante conversion introduce? And how much latency is expected end to end between devices?

A: Ferrofish has not provided specifications for latency, however, they do offer some information regarding clocking provided by Dante and the ability to adjust latency: Dante provides reliable clocking via Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and a sophisticated clock master selection. It supports low latency operation which is adjustable from 150 microseconds to 5 ms (default: 1 ms for up to 10 switches). Dante includes a suite of diagnostic tools, monitoring the network health status, e. g. device latency monitoring, active clock health monitoring, packet error reporting, and usage statistics.

Q: 5. Can this fit on a 4U standard rack mount carrying case. The width fits the standard measurement?

A: Yes it can.

Q: 6. Can you run the SCM268 stacked or in series? Not sure of the wording. One unit into another so you can use 8 XLR inputs and one XLR output. This is for voice only.

A: I haven't tried this but I imagine you can take the mixed signal output from one unit and run it to one of the channels of a second mixer. You could still adjust the 4 channels of the first mixer but the levels would be limited by the level of the mixed signal output of that first mixer. That make sense?

Q: 7. Has anyone received one of these with the black button for phantom / line / mic not there? Mine has a hole where you insert a pointy object to press to engage. Is this a QC issue or did shure remove to insure it’s not pressed by accident? Thx for your time in advance.

A: This unit has recessed switches for line/mic level and also for phantom power on/off. Perhaps the rubber covers for those switches are missing on your mixer.

Q: 8. Does this require a separate amplifier to power the microphone?

A: If you are using a condenser microphone, this mixer will provide 12V phantom power to power that microphone.

Q: 9. What would be the most inexpensive option to power this unit with a rechargeable battery?

A: The Mackie Mix5 - 5-Channel Compact Mixer requires AC power. It unfortunately cannot be powered by a battery.

Q: 10. How do the preamps with gain cranked up compare to other popular USB mixers at this price point? IE, vs Mackie (non-Onyx) and Behringer Q802.

A: These pre-amps will be in line with the quality that of a Behringer Xenyx mixer. These pre's would pair better with more sensitive signals requiring less gain to avoid noise.
