I love to blast the sound with my Play 5. I am a live concert and musical theater enthusiast. The only time I have heard sound quality like this is when I am sitting live in front of an orchestra. I have really enjoyed the thousands of streaming radio channels. I like to use one of the music services for background music when I'm going to be on the phone for a long time, and I absolutely love the way it plays my own music. I couldn't be more happy with this product. At the price point that it is currently, it needed to really WOW me, and boy did it ever!

Purchased a Play5 for the Study and a Play1 for the kitchen and am very pleased with both. The Play1 is a 'little belter' of a speaker and paired with another for stereo would produce a superb sound - but then two Play5s would be even better !! Piano, violin and similar instruments render beautifully and orchestral works put you right there in the concert hall. Some may claim that the Sonos speakers are a little brighter than those from say Denon's Heos range, but tweaking the bass and treble with Sonos's Equaliser (in Manage - Settings...), it's easy to adjust the sound to your personal taste. Hooked up the Play5 to my network/ethernet switch and my Windows7 64-bit PC via the in-line socket without any problems and the apps for the iPhone and iPad work well, as does the Windows app. The only minor niggle is that the apps aren't very intuitive when it comes to grouping/ungrouping the two speakers and setting individual volumes with a single or two different music sources. I am looking forward to many more happy hours of listening to classical and popular music - or other genres now everything is that much clearer.

I have an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area and the Sonos Play 5 is set up in there broadcasting across the big wide room. I absolutely love the speaker and use it everyday!! Cannot get enough. I plan to get another one in the coming months and set up 2 in the same room to get even BIGGER sound. Pros: the sound. The app is great on my phone (iOS). The set up was easy. Build quality is fantastic, has that heavy feel that quality speakers have. The fact that it used wifi and not Bluetooth is also really cool as I can use my phone at the same time. Cons: only one - I upgraded the router in my home and as a result I had to unplug my Sonos and take it to the room with the router and plug it in. It is the only way to connect it to the new router - which is slightly annoying. There is probably a good reason for this but I couldn't find a why on this.

I've used the Play 5 in different room sizes, and even found it easily filled my average-sized garden with great sound for a BBQ. The treble is clear, the bass is deep and punchy, and its simply amazing that so much could be squeezed into such a small space. Up until now, I've always had separates but this product is definitely the future of home audio and I can't wait to see what comes next from Sonos.

home sweet home

Having moved from a large home to a small one, the Sonos system solved a lot of issues regarding space and connectivity, while still retaining great sound from a small box. Will definitely consider a second Play5 to create a stereo pair. Didn't think much of the auto set up for sound and tone balance . I think bass and treble is personal taste thing. Regardless .. A great sounding box with surprising low end for it's size. Love the App and the options it provides. First thought it was a little pricey but compared to anything else out there, it's leaps and bounds ahead of the game.

This was by far the most pleasant experience I've had with technology in the last 10 years. I used to install large multi room audio systems with crestron control and the simplicity of this system blows it away! The set up is easy The app is super simple And the audio quality has blown me away!! I recommend this to everyone who comes by my new house!!!

Sonos is the most amazing wireless music player you can ever get. I will recommend it to anybody. I would love if the speaker came two in one box.
