The SuperCopier IT NVMe + SAS/SATA Portable Drive Duplicator from MediaClone is a portable drive duplicator that supports up to three NVMe SSDs, two SATA, eSATA, four SAS, and 8 USB 3.0/3.1 storage devices. The unit is compact, easy to carry, and easy to use with very simple and clear touchscreen icons. The operations are extremely fast and efficient, with very high transfer rates. When cloning NVMe SSDs, speeds can reach up to 187 GB per min. The SuperCopier's main application supports many modes of operations, such as Mirror Mode (bit by bit imaging), Quick Copy (advanced smart partition copy), VHD Copy (a cloned image of a virtual drive), Selective Capture (for files and folders), and Copy to Folder (copy all data files for a source drive into one folder on the target drive).

The application supports duplication of data from one source drive to multiple target drives, or from multiple source drives to multiple target drives using the flexibility to change the role of a port from target to source. Also, the application has been updated to clone Windows 10. The unit is supplied with Thunderbolt 3.0 Expansion Box with four SAS ports, while the solution also includes one M.2 NVMe controller so the user can clone 1:2 NVMe SSDs. NMVe Cloning can reach 100 GB/min depending on the media.

    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there an external case that this drive can be mounted in and then be hooked to a PC or Mac via Thunderbolt?

A: We do not currently carry an appropriate enclosure, but what you would need would be a 5.25" SAS (not SATA) enclosure that supports tape drives.

Q: 2. Would this work in a Mac Pro 7,1? (current Mac Pro tower)

A: The mLogic Desktop SAS LTO-9 Tape Drive, (B&H # MLSASD9), is only compatible with a Mac Pro 7,1 if you have SAS connections already installed in your system. By default, Mac Pro 7,1 does not, in that case, you should get the mLogic Desktop SAS LTO-9 Tape Drive with SAS Host Bus Adapter, (B&H # MLSASD9HBA), which includes a PCIe card with SAS connections for the drive.

Q: 3. Will this support clones of large drives say up to 14 or 20 TB?

A: Drive size limitations would be based on your OS.

Q: 4. what company manufactures this drive?

A: MagStor is the manufacturer of this M-Series LTO-9 SAS Half-Height Add-On Drive.

Q: 5. can i have a picture of this device plug in to power?

A: The Vinpower Digital Titan Supreme SATA DVD/CD Automated Duplicator will support 90-240v AC at 50/60 Hz. Note that it ships with a standard US plug, and you may need an adapter to allow it to fit a local outlet.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with MACOS using M1 or M2 CPU?

A: Yes, the HighPoint RocketRAID 2722A External 8-Channel SAS-2 / SATA III PCIe 2.0 RAID Controller is compatible with MacOS being run on M1 and M2 chip computers.

    Q: 7. Will it duplicate USB 3?

    A: No,this just supports USB 2.0/USB 1.1 flash drives.

Q: 8. Will this work with the HDR-50?

A: It is our opinion that it should work. However, we are not able to say so definitely since the HDR-50 is discontinued. We are able to suggest that you consider the Datavideo 320GB SATA 2.5 Spare Hard Drive. That one is confirmed as working with the HDR-50.

Q: 9. What do i need to purchase to use this as a standalone unit?

A: As your laptop does not have external sata or SAS interfaces, only Thunderbolt or USB, there would need to be a computer in between to manage the connection as well as disperse the drives properly into your laptop's file system. A computer basically, or file/drive server. This server would interface to each physical drive via SATA and provide connectivity via USB or some other consumer level connection method. This box cannot serve these drives alone without an actual computer with processor to handle traffic management and device connectivity.

    Q: 10. Can I duplicate a bigger size megabytes 124 or higher a 3.0.

A: The USBDUP12 performs a sector by sector copy, which means that the target drive must be the exact same size (down to the sector) or larger than the hard drive or flash drive that is being copied. The USBDUP12 will also work with USB 3.0 drives. Atha, StarTech.com Support

Protect that SSD with this case. Tough outer shell and soft inside.

Possibly a little overkill, but you can be certain your drive is well protected. I used this on a recent trip to Alaska, and the United baggage handlers couldn't break it.
