Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use multiple Plus X's in multiple zones using the Plus III as the transmitter? It appears that I would be limited to channels only with the Plus X's.

A: yes

Q: 2. What sync cords do I need to connect to Profoto D1s?

A: You would need a miniphone to miniphone male connection for the Profoto D1 monolight. This cable is already included with the Plus X 2 pack.

Q: 3. Does it work with the PocketWizard FlexTT5 Transceiver Radio Slave for Canon E-TTL II System. Will I have E-TTL when using it.

A: Th PocketWiard Plus X Transceiver used on-camera can trigger an off-camera flash connected to the PocketWizard FlexTT5 Transceiver Radio, and a FlexTT5 used on-camera can trigger a flash connected to the Plus X off-camera. However, the Plus X is NOT compattible with TTL triggering. The ONLY PocketWizard remotes that communicate with PocketWizards ControlTL system to transfer Canon E-TTL II information is the PocketWizard FlexTT5 Transceiver and MiniTT1 Transmitter. While the FlexTT5 can trigger all PocketWizard remotes set to the same group/channel, if the flash is not connected to another FlexTT5 unit, then the output power would have to be set manually.

Q: 4. Is port bonding supported on Mac?

A: Yes, Mac computers do support port bonding, which is ideal for the Sonnet Twin25G Thunderbolt Dual-Port 25Gb Ethernet Adapter.

Q: 5. How's the fan noise? Looking for a 10G switch, but it'll be in a room where noise is a problem.

A: The fan on the Ubiquiti Networks Switch Enterprise XG 24 24-Port 10G Managed Network Switch with 25G SFP28 is very silent.

Q: 6. Would this unit be compatible with my Alien B B1600 strobes?

A: The PocketWizard Plus X is compatible with the Alien B B1600 strobes, yes.

Q: 7. So in essence, with the right breakout cables (QSFP28 to 4 x SFP28) the switch can support 24 (4x4 + 8) SFP28 ports?

A: The QNAP QSW-M7308R-4X 12-Port 100G QSFP28 / 25G SFP28 Managed Network Switch, B&H # QNQSWM7308R4, does not support breakout cables.

Q: 8. Do you carry the other Nvidia ConnectX-6 and ConnectX-5 SKUs?

A: Currently, the HP NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX-6 Lx Dual-Port 25G SFP28 Network Interface Card is the only model we carry in that line of cards.

Q: 9. Is this sfp28 cable backward compatible with a Qnap 10G sfp+ switch?

A: Yes, this QNAP cable is compatible on a 10GbE port.

Q: 10. I have a new 6D and a 430EXII and am looking to switch to radio flash triggers. I want one which will allow me to use the in-camera flash controls. Is this part of the TTL function as far as communication between the flash and camera? Which units would be compatible with my needs? Also, what do I need to connect the receiver to the flash?

A: The in camera flash controls for your 6D will only work with your 430EX2 when it attached to your camera or off-camera with optical triggering. If you'd like your flash to be off camera, triggered with a radio system, and still have control over the power of the flash, you'll need a system that has the ability to control the flash power from the radio transmitter. One such option are the Radio Poppers (#RAJR2T for the transmitter and #RAJR2RN for the receiver)

They're wonderful! I wish there was more information about the difference between the PlusX and the Plus III though. I'm still not clear.

Professional Photographer: I use the pocket wizards daily . Either as a camera remote, studio strobe remotes or off camera lighting remotes. I love that they are light weight and take just two batteries. I've added Velcro to them to stick almost anywhere (monopod, flash heads) very powerful. I can shoot almost an entire football field and still have my remote cameras fire.

I'm a professional photographer specializing in portraiture. How embarrassing was it when I attempted to use my remote settings on my SB800 flash with my Nikon D7000 and the flash only worked intermittently? Very embarrassing. With my set of pocket wizards (what took me so long to make the decision to purchase them I just can't fathom) I get the results I was hoping for every single time. I also bought eight rechargeable batteries and two Watson chargers, so I'm ready for anything. I couldn't be happier. And the price was terrific.

Having used Pocket Wizards for at least 15 years, I know that they take a licking but keep on clicking... but also that a 15 year old model that is still functional is not going to last forever. How impressed I am with the PlusX, and what a deal the 2-Pack is! These come with cords suitable for all the various strobes I use, are compact, have a hotshoe as well, light up so I can see the channel setting in the dark, and wow what a distance range for triggering! The only additional element I needed was some velcro to make one of them easy to attach to my strobes!

Using with Profoto Acute systems, so I only needed a transmitter with simple functionality, and this does the job! Great price for a solid piece of lightweight equipment that gets the job done. Works seamlessly with my packs and required no setup. Extra channels (10) is a nice plus. Would be nice if it was a little smaller, but that's nit picking.

Simply the best on the market. Got them on sale so the price tag didn't dig in too deep.

The installation went smoothly, the software has worked as expected, and I hope to see if it performs at the rated capacity. So far, so good.
