The matte-black AKG CGN321 STS is a heavy-duty gooseneck microphone with base designed to capture speech for presentation and conferencing applications in governmental, institutional, educational, religious, and business settings.

The CGN321 STS features an 11.8", flexible gooseneck, which can be adjusted to a position that's comfortable for the speaker. The microphone's cardioid pickup pattern focuses on the sound in front of the mic and helps reduce unwanted sounds in noisy conference and meeting spaces.

The base is equipped with a switch that can be programmed for push-to-talk, push-to-mute, push-on/off, and low-cut on/off functions. An LED square clearly indicates the microphone's status.

Because of its heavy weight (over 2 lb), the CGN321 STS is able to absorb shocks, while holding the base firmly in place on desks, conference tables, lecterns, podiums, and pulpits.

The microphone requires 9 to 52 V phantom power to operate.

This is a great mic for what it is. It’s not my go-to, but I dig it on floor tom. I would imagine for live events, this mic is a great workhorse as well.

...and they are far superior.  Sound quality, ease of use, base design and quality far exceeds the Shure models we had been using for years.

Very precise, convincing sound with brass and sax, warm and persuasive male voice with excellent vibrations, female voice reproduced with good / excellent quality.
Very sensitive and analytical, it must be properly adjusted at home, it must absolutely be combined with a good mixer or at least a quality audio interface and possibly a gate / expander to bring out the best from the voice.
Sturdy and heavy, it is professionally made, and the price for quality is excellent. It is very eclectic and lends itself to many uses, plus the built-in switches allow you to further adapt its use.
Faults: A little too sensitive to hissing.

I recently purchased this microphone (Akg p120) In hopes that I can get an nice decent recording for my songs. I saw the price it was listed at and Instantly had to buy. When I received it and recorded with it I was mind blown by the results, I got some really good crystal clear vocals and to this day I love it so much it’s one of my favorites !
