Eventide Crystals is an H9 Series pitch-shift and reverb plug-in designed to deliver the renowned Crystal Echoes effect from the H3000 Harmonizer, rendering it a handy tool for ambient and electronic music production, sound design, and film scoring. It features dual 4-octave pitch shifters and two independent delays, each with up to four seconds of delay and separate feedback controls. Plus, the reverb offers up to 100 seconds of decay time for massive, ethereal soundscapes.

In addition to the onboard Ribbon control, which allows you to morph between two configurations of parameters, live MIDI control is also possible. Adjust reverb decay time, pitch mix, and reverb mix. A simple press of the Flex button raises both voices up an octave. Managing your levels is easy, thanks to the input and output sliders and dedicated I/O meters. Eventide Crystals is compatible with macOS/Windows computers and Apple iOS-based mobile devices, and supports AAX Native, Audio Units, VST2, and VST3 plug-in formats.

Eventide Crystals combines twin reverse pitch shifters with reverse delays and reverb. This iconic H3000 Harmonizer effect can be used to create out-of-this-world climbing and cascading pitched delays or to create unique sounding reverbs. It features two reverse granular delays that can be manipulated by length and pitch. Crystals excels at adding life to synths, guitar, and vocals making them sound huge and majestic. From sound design to otherworldly solos, Crystals will spark inspiration.

Crystals is a not a one-trick pony. The plug-in is also capable of huge sounding reverbs. Tweak the pitches a full octave down for a quick drunk vocal sound. Fit snares in the mix by pitch-shifting down an octave. Set really long delay times (up to four seconds per voice) with high feedback to use it as an ambient looper.

The innovative Ribbon control allows you to modulate many parameters at once. Manipulate the pitches to play it like an instrument or slowly increase feedback to make your signal explode into infinity. Need some extra gusto? Hold down the Flex button to shift one octave up from the current pitch.

  • Two pitch-shifters, each with a four-octave range from two octaves down to two octaves up
  • Two independently adjustable delays, up to four seconds each, with their own individual feedback
  • Reverb with 100 seconds of decay
  • Make it musical by micro-pitching each voice around the 4th (500 cents), 5th (700 cents), or octave (1200 cents)
  • Smooth out delay grains by applying up to four seconds of delay for each voice
  • Ribbon controller lets you play the effect in real-time and provides dynamic and fluid control to morph back and forth between the settings of your choice
  • Flex button shifts both voices up one octave at the push of a button
  • Mixlock keeps the mix control constant as you audition presets
  • iOS version works as a standalone app, Audio Units AUv3 plug-in, or Inter-App Audio
  • Mac/Windows plug-in version works as VST, AU, and AAX

Q: 3. Would like to know if I can connect the stereo output from the H9 to the Aux in on the Mixinglink to maintain a stereo effects signal? I will be using this with headphones. Or is there an alternative way to maintain a stereo effects path form the H9 with the Mixing link?

A: If you are referring to the Eventide H9 series of stomp boxes they all have two outputs for left and right. The Aux stereo input on the Eventide MixingLink is a stereo 3.5mm. So you will need this Y cable to maintain the stereo image you want to retain. I have attached the cable below.

Q: 5. Could someone recommend a great stand for this light? I'd like to be able to tilt it, so I think I need a boom arm. I'd like one that is easy to adjust, not too awkward. I don't think the Matthews Stand tilts. A C-stand with wheels might be nice, but need someone to point me in the right direction! Thanks!

A: The Matthews reverse stand is a good stand but I would go with a c stand for any kind of boom or arm.

This stand is 5 star, nothing less. It's light, steady and well crafted. I especially like the locking mechanism that is safe and has a very good feel. Quarter turn between locking and unlocking.

This is my second one, which I use when traveling or shooting on location. It packs super small, extends pretty high, and is surprisingly sturdy. The legs can lay flat, which make it easy to weigh down. I use it with a Profoto B10 and Westcott Rapid Box large octa and strip box. It's perfect for this purpose. Extremely well made, I've had my first one for many years and it is still in perfect condition.

It's the perfect balance of weight and stability.

Portability is key for me and I can strap this to the side of a roller bag and navigate the NYC subway with ease.

Whether in the studio or on the streets of NYC, I'll pop a Westcott FJ400 and Octa-M on there and I'm good to go.

If it's windy I do, of course, make sure to have an assistant keep a hand on it.

Nice lightweight stand that is able to sit low very low to the ground. I love how the footprint is much easier to adjust than most standard stands.

Strong for what it is. If you need a compact stand this is the best!

Absolutely love this stand. Saves so much room having the legs flat on the floor as opposed to normal stands. Folds small when not in use, and it's reverse design allows my massive umbrella to sit at floor level, which is great for newborns and small children close to the ground.

These mini stands are the best. I usually buy another brand but went with Matthews and I am not disappointed in the least, these are sturdy!

I now own three(3) of these Travel tripods. In my first review I stated that they were a "0" Series tripod? They actually might be a "1" Series tripod? (I own several different brand "2" Series tripods. And the leg diameter on them is larger than this tripod. So I really don't understand why the #T2540? The "2" usually stands for the top leg's diameter; and "4" usually stands for "4" leg sections.
Either way? These are really nice; strong, lightweight, compact carbon fiber tripods. I am a Birding Guide: and I am now using these tripods with three Maven #C1 65mm Spotting scopes. Obviously: they have worked out very well for me. As I have now purchased three(3) of them. An excellent dollar value at B&H Photos selling price! So far; I can highly recommend them. [A years use in all kinds of weather condition's, and constantly being setup, and taken down will tell how rugged they actually are?]

Matthews products are definitely built to last. I have two other brands made with the same design but feel flimsy compared to this one. The build quality is much better than its competitors.

I now own five(5) of these travel tripods. I purchased them for use with small 65mm Spotting Scopes for a Youth Birding Program, and Demo use. (I am a part time Birding Guide.) So far these tripods have worked out very well. Light and compact, and fairly easy for kids, and teens to carry around.Unfortunately the most recent one’s I purchased have cost me $30.00 more each than the original ones I purchased from B&H last year!. Personally; i feel they have gone up TOO much in price! Obviously I like them. Fortunately; I now have all I need. But, at the current price. I’m glad I don’t need anymore. Because I’m not willing to pay the increase in cost of them. [When B&H has Sales on Benro-Induro carbon fiber tripods? They are just as good, If not better!
And they are less money!] It’s unfortunate they raised the price so much on these nice Sunwayfoto travel tripods! Only you can determine weather the cost increase is worth purchasing one?
