The K-Tek KP5CCR Mighty Boom is a 6-section "traveler" boompole that extends to 5.3' and collapses down to 21.75", so you can easily pack it in your suitcase or travel bag. Lightweight at 1.5 lb, it features six sections made of wide graphite tubes designed to increase the stiffness and optimize handling balance. The result is quicker cueing and better user control of the microphone.

The KP5CCR's removable headpiece allows for cable reconfiguration without any soldering required. The top attachment is a 3/8"-16 male thread. Included is a KPCK6 coiled cable with a right-angle, 3-pin XLR female connector and a KPCCR bottom module with 3-pin XLR male side exit and rubber bumper.

The locking collars feature a thick yet smooth surface allowing for a more subtle gradual extension of each section. The anodized, oval divets with exterior dimples provide a great grip and smooth feel when opening and closing each collar. The finish between the tubes allows for the sections to sleekly glide open and closed. Additionally, the Mighty Boom poles are hand-burnished to diffuse handling noise.

To allow for quick conversion when working in the field, the KP5CCR is compatible with the KPTA Transmitter Adapter Module and KPTF Flow-Thru Module. Mighty Boom boompoles are made in the USA.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The description says, "The Boompole Kit Bag from K-Tek is a duffel style bag for transporting boom poles", but going only by the shown pictures, it does not appear this boompole will fit in this bag. Does it indeed fit?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 2. How could I replace the internal XLR cable?

A: Please contact K-Tek directly for repair: K-Tek: Tel: 760-727-0593 Email info@ktekpro.com

Q: 3. I need to replace one of the lock rings, 2nd one up. Can I purchase them here?

A: Unfortunately, B&H does not carry the collars (lock rings) for the K-TEK boom poles. To purchase these spare parts, please contact K-TEK directly at 760.727.0593.

Q: 4. Are you able to replace the cable inside?

A: The XLR cable is not user replaceable.

Q: 5. Does it has an internal cable?

A: No, the K-Tek KA-113 6-Section Articulated Boom Pole does not have an internal cable. The K-Tek KA-113CCR 6-Section Articulated Boom Pole would be the version with the internal cable, BH #KTKA113CCR (https://bhpho.to/3RX32qD).

Q: 6. What length does this collapse to?

A: 1' 8".

Q: 7. Is the clip removable? Thanks in advance!

A: The K-Tek Boom and Accessory Clip can be rotated, but it is not designed to be removed.

Q: 8. Is it normal to hear the coil cable bouncing around inside the boom pole?

A: Yes, it is not uncommon to hear a rattling noise when using a boompole with an internal cable.

Q: 9. What would you recommend coiled or straight cable?

A: Opinions from boompole operators on their preference for a coiled or straight internal boompole cable are mixed and often dependent on the type of audio that is being captured and whether they use a fully extended boompole. However, using a coiled internal cable, like the one inside of the K-Tek KE-110CC Avalon Series Aluminum Boompole, seems to be more popular.

Q: 10. Does this come with an internal XLR cable? If not, how long of one should I get?

A: Yes, the Auray BP-59A Aluminum Boompole features an internal coiled XLR cable.
