A: speed light will add color to the background but in order to illuminate the background more power in need. I would suggest a strobe unit of a least 500 watts in order to do so properly.

A: It does work with a MAC. My sister borrowed it and it works great! You may have to change 1 or 2 of the keys so they work the way your used to.
