Very usefull in attaching items with either 1/4x20 3/8 female threads, or 5/8 female openings to such tings as super clamps and umbrella swivels

More usable than the old, smooth shaft style. These are a good length and the center is knurled to make removal easier.

If you are a proffessional grip or camera person this is an essential gadget to have. You can lock it into any C-Stand knuckle to mount a light and some small monitors will fit on the screw thread. If you are on a tight budget, you can get a Mafer type clamp for about $20-30 from B&H that comes a removable and similar stud. Owning more than one is not a bad thing.

I needed this as a replacement for my 420B convertible boom. There are after-market spigots available elsewhere, but the price here was great and I received it quickly. Been doing business with B&H for over 30 years and have yet to be disappointed with an order.

Don't join two small half spigots together to make one of these. It may look the same, however when gear is attached and weight applied, swivelling will occur. Use a double ended spigot. Purchase more than you think you'll need. You'll always need more.

Not much to say. Simple, rugged, functional

I always have a couple of these. When my steadicam monitor got damaged on set and we had to do with a makeshift monitor replacement, I used one of these. My Steadicam monitor uses a yoke, not a center 1/4-20 or 3/8...so my gaffer had one of these on a gobohead and it did the trick. Since then, i've always had one with me. They're great to send up a camera on a c-stand for a high shot---really great for gopros. In fact, I actually use one of these with a pair of gobo arms to make a ballast if I have to use a gopro b/c you can control it better on an arm---makeshift jib. I recently bought these to mount into an Obox. The obox handles are so much, I dremelled off the 1/4-20 part of it (the Obox side handles are 3/8ths), dremelled/sanded off the knurled center part (brass is very malleable) and sanded it down to 15mm and used some handles I had designed for 15mm rods---two of these and some time (I already had the handles) was a lot cheaper than the $800-some dollars for the Obox handles.

Same as the one I lost solid construction never had a problem
