The Kase Wolverine Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage. An included Kase magnetic lens adapter ring allows the filter to be used on a lens with 58mm front filter threads.

Mounted within a nonthreaded steel filter ring, the Kase Wolverine Circular Polarizer Filter is made specifically to fit within a Kase Magnetic Lens Adapter Ring for Wolverine Magnetic Filters. Each surface of the filter's tempered, shock-resistant optical glass includes multiple layers of anti-reflection coatings to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while further enhancing clarity as well as color fidelity. These coatings also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

The included magnetic lens adapter ring allows a Kase Wolverine magnetic filter to be used on a lens with 58mm front filter threads. It is constructed from steel and allows for the convenient installation or removal of that filter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this filter allow full movement of a Laowa 15mm shift lens?

A: The Kase K9 100mm Filter Holder with the Kase 90mm Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter for Kase K9 100mm Filter Holder will not fit on the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens.

Q: 2. I purchased this filter as part of a Kase kit. It appears to be one piece of glass. It was always my understanding that polarizers were two piece of glass with one rotating and giving you ability to dial in polarization. How does this work with only one piece of glass?

A: The front element of a circular polarizer contains the foil that does the polarization, and the secondary element is sometimes simply a quarter wave plate (which aids in turning the now linearly polarized light back into circularly polarized light) or simply a mounting element/frame. In this case, the Kase Wolverine CPL will spin on its magnetic filter holder and doesn't employ a quarter wave plate or mounting frame.

Q: 3. If I use this filter to block light from distant city, will it also affect the Halogen light I use to light paint?

A: The Kase Neutral Night Light Pollution Filter (82mm) is designed to reduce light pollution when photographing the sky during long-exposure night photography. It was not originally intended for light painting usage needs. Halogen lights will output light that may be suppressed by the filter, but it may depend on the intensity of the light as to the effect the filter may have on the halogen light (the filter is designed to reduce background light glow). Your results may vary, and would require testing to see if it would work for your planned usage needs.

Q: 4. Is Kase KW-MCPL-77 filter compatible with Manfrotto magnetic adapters?

A: It will not fit the Manfrotto magnetic ring but that is okay since the Kase Wolverine Magnetic Circular Polarizer comes with it's own magnetic adapter in the box.

Q: 5. Is the Kase wolverine glass substrate the same as their other filters (Schott B270) except chemically strengthen?

A: we do not have this level of information. It is made of optical glass.

Q: 6. Will the sensor still 'see' the laser and its effects? I want to record a 5mW laser being 'split' by a prism.

A: You will unlikely see the laser effect when using the Kase Wolverine Magnetic 82mm Anti-Laser Protective Filter with Adapter Ring. From the information that we have, this filter is needed for lasers that are 10 watts or higher. You do not need this filter when using a 5-milliwatt laser unless it is pointed directly at the camera.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the Kase Wolverine v.s. Skyeye setup? they seem to be exactly the same but with a huge price difference.

A: The Skyeye filters are a budget line of Kase filters that mirrors their more expensive Wolverine line of filters.

Q: 8. dos it protect your sensor from a 10-20w laser? or is it only to protect your sensor from lowe-end lasers like 1-5w ?

A: Yes, the following filter has a rated protection rate of 40 watts.

Q: 9. Will these filters vignette with ultra wide lens. In my case Fuji GF 20-35mm f4.0

A: The Kase 82mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II would offer thinner rings, so the likelihood that they will vignette with your Fujifilm GF 20-35mm f/4 is minimal.

Q: 10. Will the Wolverine Circular Polarizer work on a Kase Skyeye magnetic adapter?

A: No, Kase Skyeye Magnetic Adapter (82mm) are not compatible with kase wolverine magnetic filters series. The Kase Wolverine Magnetic Circular Polarizer Filter already comes with its magnetic ring. If you need a step up ring you will need Kase Magnetic Step-Up Ring for Wolverine Magnetic Filters.
