Designed to maximize the uptime and accessibility of RAID storage, the RocketRAID 3740C PCIe Host Bus Adapter from HighPoint fits into a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot on your host Windows, Mac, Linux, or FreeBSD system using an included low-profile bracket. It is equipped with four internal SFF-8643 mini-SAS ports that support up to sixteen SAS-3 12 Gb/s or SATA III 6 Gb/s channels, which may be used for Enterprise and NAS drives. The RocketRAID 3740C also supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50, each of which provides performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is available. To better monitor the health of your RAID configuration, HighPoint's RocketRAID WebGUI interface provides a wide range of preemptive monitoring and maintenance features.

It is also possible to expand or convert RAID storage configurations as needed with Online Capacity Expansion (OCE), which allows admins to add new drives to existing arrays. Online RAID Level Migration (ORLM) allows admins to convert one RAID level to another in order to tune storage configurations for improved performance or data security.

Please note that bootable RAID 6 arrays are not supported and RAID 6 is not supported on Mac. This controller may be used with the RS6418S and RS6414S JBOD tower enclosures via 8644-8088-1M1 SFF8644 to SFF-8088 cables.

A: On the datasheet for this product, the manufacture only states it supports larger HDD's than 2TB. It doesn't specify the maximum size. Q: 3. What's the maximum throughput?

A: Rocket series NVMe HBAs such as this 1508 8-Bay M.2 NVMe SSD PCIe 4.0 x16 Adapter Card are capable of fully saturating x16 lanes of 4.0 host bandwidth.

A: Nvme drives will typically be bottlenecked by PCIe 2.0 with or without RAID, and as such only SATA M.2 drives (via a PCIe card similar to this one) would be recommended for use with PCIe 2.0.

A: In addition to RAID 0, the HighPoint SSD7540 can support RAID 1 and RAID 10.
