Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have Sony RX-100 M7, will this filter ring work on this model without vignetting?

A: No , RX-100 M7 has no filter threads

Q: 2. Can the 105mm polarized filter attach directly to the adaptor ring?

A: The 77mm adapter ring screws on a 77mm lens. As a polarized filter has threads on only one side that screws on to the lens, it will not work with the adapter ring. I had to remove the UV filter in order to screw on the adapter ring.

Q: 3. COULD A 77MM WA RING BE USED ON A CROP BODY USING A (CANON 10-22 & 24-105 LENSE ) ? THANKS IN ADVANCE RICH

A: Yes, absolutely

Q: 4. Does this adapter also work with the LEE Filters Universal (Medium Wide) Lens Hood? Looking to purchase for my Nikon 24mm Tilt Shift lens. Thanks, Mel

A: Yes Nikon 24mm Tilt Shift lens is 77mm

Q: 5. In order to avoid having to take the ring on and off the lens every time I want to use it, I'd like to leave it on the lens full time. Are there forward threads enabling it to take a lens cap? Thanks.

A: There are no forward threads, but it works great for placing and adding filters to the lenses, very quick specially working with the Big stopper that you cannot see to focus with the filter on.

Q: 6. I have an APS-C sensor camera and want to use my Sigma 17-50mm F/2.8 lens, should I get the Lee 77mm Wide Angle Lens Adapter vs the Lee regular 77mm adapter?

A: Yes, I would get the wide angle adapter to help alleviate vignetting at the wide end of the lens.

Q: 7. can i use this one for longer focal length lens too?

A: You can use the Lee 77mm adapter ring for wide angle lenses on lenses with longer focal lengths as well, yes.

Q: 8. Is there a reason to not use the wide angle adapter ring for non-wide angle lenses?

A: You can use the wide angle adapter ring on non-wide angle lenses.

Q: 9. I have canon 10-22 wide angle lens is this the correct adapter ring??

A: Yes it is a 77mm. Wendi D.

Q: 10. I want to get this adapter and LEE filter holder. I want to use a breakthrough solid ND filter 77mm on my Canon 24-105mm lens and add a LEE graduated ND filter to the holder. Is this setup possible? Thanks in advance.

A: It could work but it's not how its meant to be used. By doing so, you will darken your scene in your viewfinder and make it difficult to align the Grad filter with the horizon in your scene. You may also introduce vignetting in the corners. Its better to use the square Lee ND and Lee Grad filters in a Lee holder which is attach to your 77mm lens via a Lee 77mm adapter ring. Then place the Grad first to balance/darken the sky with the below scene, then add a ND to make a long exposure. Depending how dark is your ND Filter is, you will need calculate the number of stops introduced to your base exposure.Hope that helps.
