Add analog and multiformat digital I/O to your Mac/Windows computer with the RME HDSPe AIO Pro, a PCI Express audio interface that offers solid clocking, high-performance converters, and flexible inputs and outputs in a single PCIe slot. Utilizing technology from RME's top-shelf ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter, the HDSPe AIO Pro delivers significant gains in signal-to-noise ratio performance while offering selectable reference levels and ultralow latency.
Between the card and its included breakout cables, there are eight channels of ADAT I/O, stereo AES/EBU and S/PDIF I/O, unbalanced stereo analog I/O, DIN 5-pin MIDI I/O, and a high-power headphone output, all simultaneously operational. The SteadyClock FS clock section ensures maximum jitter suppression of external clock signals along with low inherent jitter. Plus, optional modules can be used to add timecode and word clock connections for tight synchronization.
For Studio and Broadcast Engineers PCI Express Interface Stereo Analog Line I/O High-Power Headphone Output Up to 24-Bit / 192 kHz Resolution Mac/Windows Compatible AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and ADAT I/O MIDI I/O, Stable Clocking Selectable Reference Levels Analog and Digital Breakout Cables

The HDSPe AIO Pro PCI Express interface card is the successor of the popular HDSPe AIO. The Pro version provides professional users in the fields of studio and broadcast with the same high channel count as well as analog/digital input and output variety of the HDSPe AIO. In terms of technical features, RME has completely reworked the HDSPe AIO Pro, defining the current state-of-the-art in PCI Express cards.
The HDSPe AIO Pro is based on the reference processors AK5572 and AK4490 derived from the high-end AD/DA converter ADI-2 Pro. The analog input range also uses the circuit design of the ADI-2 Pro (+24 / +19 / +13 / +4 dBu). In addition, RME has enhanced the outputs with additional reference levels (balanced: +24 / +19 / +13 / +4 dBu; unbalanced: +19 / +13 / +4 / -2 dBu) which allows even more versatile integration into audio systems. The HDSPe AIO Pro features a dedicated attenuator in the output section, resulting in an increased signal-to-noise ratio and a lower output impedance at low reference levels.
A further highlight of the HDSPe AIO Pro is the newly developed, powerful, and extremely transparent headphone output. Thanks to mute relay including switchable output levels, there is no unwanted crackling noise at the headphone output and the analog line outputs when switching on the computer.
- Stereo analog input and output with four selectable reference levels
- All analog I/Os capable of 24-bit / 192 kHz with a constant number of available channels
- ADAT digital I/O, supporting 192 kHz via S/MUX4 operation
- S/PDIF stereo digital I/O, capable of 192 kHz
- AES/EBU stereo digital I/O, capable of 192 kHz
- High-power headphone output with a separate D/A converter
- MIDI I/O with 16 channels of high-speed MIDI
- DIGICheck, RME's unique metering and analyzing tool
- TotalMix FX, a 760-channel mixer with 42-bit internal resolution
- Native PCI Express uses no PCI to PCI Express bridge
The HDSPe AIO Pro comes with a DB9 digital breakout cable and a DB15 analog breakout cable. The DB9 digital cable has RCA coaxial connections for S/PDIF and XLR connectors for AES/EBU. The DB15 analog cable has RCA coaxial connections for the unbalanced analog stereo line inputs and outputs, a 1/4" TRS headphone output, and DIN 5-pin connectors for MIDI I/O. A balanced XLR breakout cable (the RME BO9632XLRMKH) is available separately).
Excellent performance in all clock modes and high-quality analog conversion let you hear your mix as it is, with ultralow jitter and impeccable jitter immunity.
RME audio interfaces not only provide you with a professional digital audio interface, but also with a free available software tool: DigiCheck, for metering, testing, measuring, and analyzing digital audio streams.
- Optional time code module (TCO) for external video/SMPTE synchronization
- Optional word clock module (WCM) for wordclock input and output
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is the PCIe HDMI card an HDMI-in ?
A: Sorry, but the answer is no. The PCI card is used only for connection to the interface. It does not pass a raw HDMI signal.
Q: 2. Will this work with/install in OWC Mercury Helios 3S Thunderbolt 3 PCle enclosure?
A: Yes, the Sonnet 1-Port Solo 10G Ethernet PCI Express 3.0 Card can be used with a PCIe enclosure such as the OWC Mercury Helios 3S.
Q: 3. Will this maintain original 4x3 aspect ratio from legacy video formats with the black bars on the sides (which is preferred) but without the black bars on the top and bottom (kind of like letterbox which I don't want) when used as a stand alone analogue to HDMI converter without using its own recording capability or hooking it up to a computer?
A: This device retains 4x3 aspect ratio with pillar bars (no letterbox needed for this aspect ratio), but ti does not function as a standalone unit.
Q: 4. Does it come with capture software? Or do you need to use an old version of Premiere Pro to capture? Can you also set how long it will capture for then stop?
A: It does not come with capture software, but should work on versions of Premiere CS5 or later, as per manufacturer specs. In and out points are not set on this device but should be entered on the software interface being used.
Q: 5. I read on the MOTU site that this has no support for Premiere CC. Has anyone tested this? will it work as a capture device?
A: Yes, according to recent tests performed with this device and Adobe Premiere Pro CC, there was no compliance between the two products.
Q: 6. Does this support multi-vlan?
A: Sonnet does not provide any information about VLAN support for this product. You could implement a Layer 2 switch, which would give you the multi-VLAN support without having to change your ethernet adapter. Ubiquiti Unifi switches are an example of such solutions.
Q: 7. Is this compatible with Avid Media Composer?
A: Software Supported: Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 or higher on Mac OS X The HD Express driver installer with Avid support is now available for download. This updated software installer provides compatibility with (and is required for) the Media Composer 6.5 family of products. if you prefer to edit more conveniently at a lower data rate, you can choose Apple ProRes, ProRes HQ, Avid DNxHD, or the codec of your choice in Avid Media Composer 6.5 or Apple Final Cut Pro for maximum CPU efficiency and smooth editing. In Premiere Pro on Windows, you can choose among several popular codecs, including DVCProHD. By choosing a codec directly supported by your host, you eliminate unnecessary extra stages of compression and decompression, which produces maximum CPU efficiency and smooth editing.
Q: 8. Is this full-height or half-height (low profile) card? I.e. does it fit in a small form factor PC?
A: The HDSPe AIO Pro PCI Express Audio Interface Card is a full sized PCIe card.
Q: 9. Will this unit work as a stand alone analogue to HDMI converter to use to feed a DataVideo HDR-1 mpr recorder maintaining legacy video 4x3 aspect ration with the black bars on the sides of the picture but not black bars above the picture (kind of like a letterbox) without connecting it to a computer or using the Motu's own recorder?
A: No it is not a stand-alone product.
Q: 10. Will this stream Ustream or Livestream and work with Sony Vegas?
A: No, as of right now this will only support Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 or higher on Mac OS Xand Adobe Premiere Pro 4.0.1 or higher on Windows 7 / Vista / XP.
