Built to make professional studio recording and live audio routing more convenient and efficient, the HV-316 Remote Control Microphone Preamp from Millennia is an 8-channel, 1 RU rack-mountable mic preamp with full Dante and MIDI remote-control facilities. With each channel sporting up to 64 dB of pristine gain, +34 dBu of headroom, and RF Pi filter shielding for absolute protection against pesky electromagnetic interference, the HV-316 is set up to elevate any audio system with crystal-clear sound and modern connectivity.

The HV-316 features two Dante ports (one primary and one secondary) capable of controlling up to 384 channels at once, with the primary also compatible with Millennia Ælogic control software, as well as a DIN 6-pin MIDI connector (requires breakout cable) for an alternative control option. DB25 connectivity is used for the 8 channels of balanced analog input. The paralleled A/D conversion is powerful and low latency, sporting sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz for any production. Power options are versatile in order to support reliable operation in a range of recording, broadcast, and performance environments, including AC input with global automatic voltage switching, an optional 12V battery slot (requires external 8A inline fuse, not included), and an optional redundant 12V backup power supply input. The HV-316 includes a power cord for immediate use.

The HV-316 features a matched discrete-octet transistor gain topology through the classic Millennia HV-3 double-balanced circuit. This precisely designed audio circuit ensures all channels are matched to within 0.08 dB for supremely consistent and uniform performance. The entirely balanced audio path is hand-built in California, USA with precision components, maintaining a signal integrity of <0.001% THD.

Hand-built in California to exacting standard, the HV-316 is designed to be easy to set up and move around while surviving the test of time. The 16-gauge aluminum rack chassis can survive plenty of abuse while being only 10 lb, making it easy to mount or move to a new equipment rack.

Billet aluminum laser etching is used on the front panel for a clean and professional look. Finally, the advanced internal power supply is designed to survive heavy usage and is rated for 650,000 hours of MTBF operation.

High-definition meters are used for grouping, linking, scene management, temperature monitoring, and more. A -20 dB attenuation pad is also included for controlling input signals.

Several factory upgrades are available for those seeking additional connectivity with their HV-316 mic preamp:

  • Analog Output Option provides 8 channels of analog DB-25 output with laser-trimmed FET circuitry for supporting long cable runs beyond 1000'
  • MADI Output Option delivers extra MADI connectivity for supplementing the Dante connections, assuring universal connectivity options with the most popular and common digital control protocols
  • Channel Upgrade allows those that purchase the 8-channel version of the HV-316 to optionally upgrade their short-loaded model down the line to 16 channels if needed
