I'm a big fan of Shimoda backpacks. My Action70 is easily the best backpack I've ever used. Fit, feel, balance and features. Literally rides better full then competitor 45 L bags that are full Shimoda has done it again with these Explore 2 bags. I wanted something smaller for when I have less equipment on board. This usually means street photography for me vs landscape where I use the Action 70.

I can easily fit two or three medium format lenses in the main compartment, including a long zoom or one non-gripped camera lens, combo and one long lens or two small lenses. I actually use the main compartment for lenses and if I need to put the camera in the backpack, I use the top compartment for that. I can fix a non-gripped body and medium telephoto in there, I chose the 30 model in order to have space for that.

The backpack has the same balance and feel as it's Action cousins, Barely notice it on me. Also a really good set of pockets and sleeves for acccessories

This is an incredibly nice camera bag without the baggage of looking like one. Shimoda has spared nothing in the quality of materials and well thought out functionality. The straps are comfortable when it's fully loaded. The water bottle and tripod pouches tuck neatly away when not in use to keep it's clean lines. The medium camera cube inside is sturdy and goes well with the frame inside the bag helping to keep it's shape. Plenty of pockets for storing equipment and accessories. The bright teal interior helps you locate your stuff quickly, the straps are well ventilated, and the bottom strap works like a charm. I'd recommend this to anybody looking for a beautifully designed bag.

Credit to B&H for getting this bag out as soon as it became available. I changed my mind quite a bit and they made it really easy to do so. Great service.

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, functional, many pockets and sleeves for multi-use, comfortable, well designed.

Cons: A bit over priced, middle pouch becomes a bit compacted when main compartment is stored to capacity.

Bought this to transport camera to Alaska. Took a day cruise and the captain took us under a waterfall. All zippers were closed, and everything inside the park remained dry! Great organization and capacity. Would recommend.
